I did it mostly by myself after work, I had to "force" a lot of things off because they were seized or stuck, but I dont' think yours will have the same issue. If you put it into solid work hours, it probably took me around 16 to do it, not counting food, drink, Autozone, or first aid kit runs. It was really a learning experience; if you've changed a transmission before, it'll be cake. ![]() I bet I could do it with my eyes closed now though. ![]() '00 ECSB 4x4 | Built 4L65e | 5.3 | 2% Tint (RIP 10/1/08) | K&N | Magnaflow | BFG | Wait4Me

Re: New Tranny on the way
So did you end up going with the stage 2 like mine, or did you go with one of the others?
I got the same cooler with mine, I still need to put it in though. Maybe we can do that when we finish yours.
Rest In Peace Jason

Re: New Tranny on the way
went with the stage 2
got the upgraded clutches, 1800 stall, and the cooler. Glad i didn't get the pan cuz i found out that i already have deep pan with the drain plug so that would've just been a waste. So we are meeting at jason's at 8 and then gonna go from there, so whatever time you want to head that way, the more help the less work i have to do, . But it's always nice to have more hands!![]() ^Thanks ILD 01 Silverado 5.3 ECSB 3in block/3in BL/315 75 16 Cooper STT's/black DC-1s/PATC Raptor Jr/dual 4' firestik cb antennas Future Mods: 03 tails/u-bolt flip |

Re: New Tranny on the way
That's exactly what I got, except I got a 1700 stall converter. I did go with the aluminum pan though.
I should be able to make it down there by 8.
Rest In Peace Jason

Re: New Tranny on the way
Here's an update for you guys.
We were doing the work at my dad's garage since both of my bays are kinda occupied. Got the truck down there at about 8:30. Didnt make alot of friends on the 15 mile ride at about 25 mph, lol. 94Yukon met us there and we got to work. Everything was going pretty smooth until we got to the torque converter. Ended up having to cut the bolts. Never seen that before. Once we finally got through all of them we started putting everything back together. Finally got it all reassembled, put fluid back in the T case and trans. Started it up, let it rrun for a bit to circulate and fill up the converter. Tried shifting and nothing. ![]() Bye this point it was about 3 am and we called it there. He's going to do some trouble shooting today. 70 Chevelle-94 RCSB-95 2 dr Tahoe-96 4 dr Tahoe for parts Quote:
