Didnt make alot of friends on the 15 mile ride at about 25 mph, lol. 94Yukon met us there and we got to work. Everything was going pretty smooth until we got to the torque converter. Ended up having to cut the bolts. Never seen that before. Once we finally got through all of them we started putting everything back together. Finally got it all reassembled, put fluid back in the T case and trans. Started it up, let it rrun for a bit to circulate and fill up the converter. Tried shifting and nothing.

Bye this point it was about 3 am and we called it there. He's going to do some trouble shooting today.

Man that sucks. I thought I would be the only one in history to have to cut them off!

Is there tension on the shifter column? I panicked because I didn't have my bracket and clip installed to hold it in place. Be sure you have that. I doubt the pump is bad.

Re: New Tranny on the way
I'll second what performabuild2 said, front pump.
front pump gear will break if you don't get the torque converter
seated in the slots right before bolting it up to the engine,
as soon as you start it bam broken front pump gear.

I would not run it to long, could cause even more problems.

Never thought of that, damn I spent like 15 minutes making sure that torque converter was seated right and I still wasn't sure lol

Re: New Tranny on the way
as told you in PMs the pump is a little involved you will need a pumps sealing ring sizer and a pump alignment band the pump bolts are 13mm head and you will need a pump puller it can be removed by prying from behind but unless you have done it alot I dont recomend it there is a certain spots to proy or you will break the case you are best off taking it to a local shop you can bring it to our shop I see you are in PA we are in hazelton PA I will talk with the crew and see what they will do for ya I will get back with ya later

Re: New Tranny on the way
i would love to bring it to your shop, but the problem is that the tranny is in maryland in the truck and i don't have a way of getting it there. So i guess that i will just have to take it to a shop down in MD. Thanks for the offer though!! Jason looks like i am gonna need to have you help me with this when i get back.

^Thanks ILD

Re: New Tranny on the way
Figured I'd update. We tried to take the pump out of the old trans just to see what was involved. Definitely need the correct puller, we kinda rigged something up with a gear puller and it just wasnt happening. Ken called a local shop that had been recommended to me and talked to them about it. Decided to take the whole truck over to them since Carlisle is coming up. Loaded it up yesterday after work and took it to the shop. Had to swap some stockers on the front to get it to fit on the tow dolly.
