Re: torque converter clutch cycling 99 Silverado NBS
Yes, you do not want the torque converter to lockup at WOT. So if you can eliminate this from happening, through changes in the computer, that would be the way to go. Set the lockup to come on where you want. The PWM eliminator valve from TransGo changes to the 1993-1994 setup to the ON/OFF, nothing in between. This provides better gas mileage, less heat, less wear on the torque converter clutch, less contaminates in the oil, etc. It is a win/win situation. I supply everything that is needed to do this corredtly. If you need a separator plate, I can provide a pre-drilled one to match your combination. Dana

Re: torque converter clutch cycling 99 Silverado NBS
How exactly does the transgo HD2 kit go about eliminating the PWM valve? I can't imagine just a shift kit alone causing it to shift too awful firm. I guess I will find out soon enough though. I really don't think I need the corvette servo either. This truck doesn't have enough balls to pull a trailer for one thing, it would be not like oldred will. And for another, it may or may not have the weaker non hardened sun shell and I don't really want to break that anytime soon. I know its not a hard fix but its one I don't want to be messing with.

Im guessing it does not have the hardened sunshell since my 02 didnt have it. Busted it at 43000 miles.

Re: torque converter clutch cycling 99 Silverado NBS
If it does have it and hasn't been replaced its made it an unheard of 127k miles. My dad managed to make it 65k on his 02 before it broke and he was always hauling way more then any half ton should ever see. Time will tell I guess.
