opinions on Hughes torque converters
I'm getting ready to order a Hughes 2500 rpm heavy duty lockup style converter for my 4L60E in oldred. Anything I should know or anybody have any opinions on their converters?

This would be the one I'm going to get.

What gears do you have in the back? What is the purpose of this vehicle?

3.73s

Daily driver. Might pull a small trailor once or twice a year. Looking for all around improved drivability and performance over the stock converter. From what I've gathered Hughes converters are really tight and feel similar to a stock converter for just normal daily driving but when you step on it you get the nice boost of the higher stall.

Re: opinions on Hughes torque converters
I have never seen a 2,500rpm stall 12" torque converter do well with part throttle feel. They usually feel slippery, run hotter, and not good when it comes to towing. 2,200rpm is the highest I would go with a 12" torque converter. Edge makes a good TC for your application, is about $75.00 cheaper, and comes with a one year warranty. Let me know of I can be of help here?

Re: opinions on Hughes torque converters
Really. Fast305 is using the same converter in his 5500 pound brick van with mighty 3.08s and loves it. I know I want to stay with a 2500 stall though. Is there any advantage to a smaller diameter converter other then it weighs less?
