4l60e lag?
hey everyone!, Alright so this problem with my 99 Astro van happened about a month ago where i would accelerate and it would kinda stick at like 2k rpms and the speed would climb like hell but the rpms wouldn’t go any higher. Then sometimes it might stick at 2000 to around 2500 rpms and not gain any speed then kick a tiny bit and get going..The only thing ive done is put in a Vette servo, which helped sooo much!! Does it have anything to do when the van seems to slam forward when accelerating from slow speeds? the van only has 100k on it with a history or minoe tranny problems that seem to disappear after a month or soo, its weird. Like the last problem we had was when the tranny shifted soo hard it would chirp hesistate, chirp again then be on its merry way..that was gone in about a week and never happened again.. well sorry i talk alot..any ideas would be helpful thanks!

Re: 4l60e lag?
any codes stored in the computer?
fluid in good condition and at proper level(engine running and in park)
last time it was serviced(fluid replaced)?
what gear does it do it in?
any shifting problems? any downshifting problems?
does it shudder when it does this?

Re: 4l60e lag?
yeah fluid was changed about 4000 miles ago. its a good level. it does this in all gears. its almost like the converter is slipping a lot more before it locks up. cause is goes away by around 2500 rpm. it didnt do it this morning. and theres no codes. yet lol

Re: 4l60e lag?
My truck has a thing that limits the rpms to 2000 if the brakes are pressed. Could that be malfunctioning and limiting you to 2000 rpms. If it's a brake problem that could explain some of the jerky feelings too. Not sure, just a thought?

Mine went out or I think the spring was broken in it it's been so long and it shifted super hard for a while. Hope this helps.
