1994 2wd spartic hard 1-2 shift n lurchin in f n r
have a 94 esb chevy. 350 auto. 144 miles never had trans prob. after a 1.5 hour interstate drive the other day it started shifting hard in the 1-2 shift, and also lurching putting it in forward and reverse. changed filter but no help. talked to about 5 shops and getting everything from bad computer to shift servo to warped valve body. pluged it in and the com had a 1-2 servo error stored.. the last guy wasnt sure if a bad 1-2 would also cause the lurchin. ne good avise would help. oh and it dont do it 100% of time. just most. every 8th shirt will b normal and the hardness varys. same hold for the lurching it varys

A teacher of mine had an 01 Silverado with a 4.3L and 4L60E. His 1-2 started getting pretty brutal. His shop said it was dumping pressure too fast on the 1-2 shift (something about a valve or solenoid releasing too quick). He drove it like that for months without a problem. He finally put a new tranny in it and it literally exploded before he left the dealer lot.

Some possible problems:
3. 1-2 Shift shudder at WOT; delayed or abnormal 1-2 shift; There's a problem ONLY on the 1-2 shift: 1-2 accumulator piston cracked or stuck ****ed in the bore. Check the yellow spring inside the accum housing for breakage. Also, if the accumulator housing walls are scored, the housing must be replaced. Easy fix in the pan. 4. 1-2 shift is delayed and harsh, may not shift into OD: Check TPS for smooth and linear electrical response over the entire range of motion. using mulitmeter probe dark blue wire going to tps sensor(ignition on engine stopped) should have around .5vdc closed throttle up to 5vdc wide open throttle. no dead spots or erratic voltage(spikes). O2 GMC RCSB 4.8L V8 AUTO 3.73'srebuilt/beefed up 4L60E(at 43,000miles) TRAIN HORNS(see pics in my gallery)

no shutter or late shiftin, just harsh,really harsh. checked tps and its fine. prob just put a whole new valve body in it. only 220$ and then all the aprings and stuff will b new
