Re: 99 Silverado Buildup
the only ones i have

bumper specs:
-.120 wall 1 3/4
-removable lightbar with sleeved mounts (not just 2 holes drilled in the pipe)
-yes its custom, yes i built it.

dirty girl

only picture of the "internals", plus i plated the frame and replainted it

repeat

i plan on modifying it into a pro-truck style bumper for a little more protection and so i can nerf trucks :) but i still want to keep at least 3 lights. ive been thinking of just cutting it off and redoin the whole thing cause its almost 2 years old but its still thought. ill post the photoshop drawing i did of the future setup.

Re: 99 Silverado Buildup
well in the picture i have them just "set" in place so i could mock up arms and do some geometry but fiberglass is a bitch. they definatly dont fit anywhere close to as good as factory (duh) so you have to kinda shape and fit them to your truck. these are hannemanns 5" flair, and i needed every inch when i cycled the wheel into the fender.

please tell me you have a front end built and that your not going to run white brotastic sicky knar wide fenders and no front end.

HA HA no im not goin to run 5 inch flare ones... i just have a fab 7 inch with 15x10's so my tires stick out enough to run a three inch flare set ( trac increased about 3.5 per side i beliver with tires and spindles). I believe the hanneman set like that looks almost stock except for a 3 inch buldge around the whell well opening and they allow for a larger tire.. I honestly think they just look awesome and was just tossing around the idea of putting on a set when the summer gets here..

it would either be the haneman or the glass works unlimited set.. (both look different)
but deff not the 5 inch variaty your running lol

Re: 99 Silverado Buildup
yea ive looked there before but i think most are coversions or require a diff hood, and i dont need to do that much work... i think if i do put a set on ill use the hanemann 3 inch flare because they arent to extreme looking ( nothing like your full blown desert racer fenders)

But you mentioned that the flares are a bitch.. did they come with holes pre drilled or anything?? thanks

oh and heres the link to what i want..
http://www.hannemannfiberglass.com/P...es/HF5008.html

that wouldnt be to extreme would it?

Re: 99 Silverado Buildup
nah with 10 inch rims and the lift it should match. you could probably draw a line and the fenders would match the outer edge of the wheel. cause i have 285s on 8 inch rims and cst spindle and they stick out 2 inches so you will be good.

um they come "raw". no holes and with rough edges that you have to cut and shape a little, sometimes more, depends on the mold and the set you get.

Re: 99 Silverado Buildup
Updates + Pictures!
I knew I could count on Camburg despite what some people have told me. To make a long story short I decided to get the spindles straight from them. I talked directly with Scott and he got them all set up for me. Major props to him. He helped me out getting the right parts I needed and also before with the million questions at the off road expo so I was stoked he treated me good once again. This is what I brought home. So the build continues...

Re: 99 Silverado Buildup
No sense in carrying a spair with no jack (factory one doesnt count and doesnt work with lift) so I purchased a aluminum 4000lb jack from Harbor Freight, built a skid plate for it, and a quick release mounting setup for the truck...

If you look close on the last picture you can see the hood pin that holds it in, its just under the grab handle. Front is held in by the original wheel spindle and tabs I cut out for them to slot into. Came out good.

Re: 99 Silverado Buildup
Alright here is the pictures from last weekend before I tore it all off and put the stock stuff back (sunday) on so I could drive to work monday. Remember these are the mock up arms and not the finals. I cut out some quick plating for the upper uniball to sit in and for the arm tubing to connect to. Final design with be different but same geometry. Cycled 20 inches the night before (sat) with the tire tucked as far up into the fenders as possible. Decided a more reasonable number would be 18 unstrapped and in the end, 16/17 strapped. Had to change caster and camber numberous times but it ended up comming out to 14 degrees of caster at bump and 5 at droop. that is with the front end of the truck jacked up so i figure it will be more like 12 bump/ 3 droop. camber is in the middle of the oem adjustors so there is plenty of adjustment with those + the heims. extended the wheel base 1.5 inches for firewall clearance and its all very close at full bump.

Re: 99 Silverado Buildup
Man, I just found this thread and I'm really impressed. I just bought a 99 Sierra last week. It came with a horizontal uniball upper control arm but a stock lower control arm, fabtech coils and 2.0 fox resi's. I want to throw some coilovers on there but am unsure how to make the measurements and what size shock to get. It looks like you went with the 10", do you suggest the same for my application? do you think I could mount it to the factory lower control arm? Thanks for your input, it looks like you really know what you're doing!
