Re: 99 Silverado Buildup
at this time no, just a bed and engine cage for the suspension. in a couple of seasons i will. thats why i made the bed cage bolt on, so i can take it off one day, sell it, and then cage the whole thing. soon as i get a silverado DD to pull it around too!

clean...do something with those shackle hangers if you pull off the leaves again.

How are you going to setup your fuel fill hose?

Re: 99 Silverado Buildup
looks good, weight should be closer to 50/50 with the spares, cell, jack and all that tubing in the back even though you lost the bed.

Re: 99 Silverado Buildup
This thing has come a long way since I looked at this thread last, good job man, it's looking great. Did you ever get the control arms finished?

I know that you already have the rearend done with the long travel leafs, but man, I would love to see someone do a write up on a 4 link build, once you're finished with everything else do you think you might 4 link it in the rear?

Good job!!!

Re: 99 Silverado Buildup
maybe in a few years, right now with what i have done with the truck im gonna have so much to deal with before i tackle that. i still have the have the shocks valved!

plans for the motor include: a new one. ive been thinking about this alot lately and i have 185,000 on the same motor and i think investing in it wouldnt be wise. ive been looking at the HO 5.3 crate motor from GM performance parts. its got a mild cam in it and its street legal, which is what i need.

major plans after the front and rear is done is to buy a DD to tow it!

Get an OBS HD or Dually, so that you can save more money for putting the truck together. You are currently building my dream truck, so kick ass with it so that i can vicariously live through you in all my desert racing fantasies

Re: 99 Silverado Buildup
ha ha i would love an HD. my dad has a 07 2500 HD but the truck before that was the same just '05. i love that truck and i drive it around for work all the time. its the company truck and one of the other bosses drives it but i would love to have it :).

my uncle drives my dads truck before the 05, which is a 2001 2500 HD and currently that is my tow vehicle for this season!
