Hmmm.. Haha. I need to go ahead and buy so I can mock it up! Should I get the gear indicator also or just leave it plain?

Re: The Teardown And Rebuild! Pics Inside!
its about time you updated this thread, slacker.
looks good. I would try rounding over the outside edge of your speaker mounting ring. it will flow better after you fleece. and put less stress on the glass.

Yeah Yeah.. I been busy with other things lately.
Yeah I did use a round over bit but the ring is about the exact same diameter as the trim for the speaker and I coulnt go any larger. I think it will flow ok once the fleece is down and I can shape it a little more.

Re: The Teardown And Rebuild! Pics Inside!
Ok, I worked on the truck for maybe 15 min. I swapped the blue LED guage lights out for some Cool White ones from superbright like I have in my other truck. These look alot better to me now and can clearly read the guages. Also put some in the map lights. All these look great against the black and billet int.
Test fit the console and sub again in the truck before stretching the fleece just to make sure the sub was where I wanted it. It fits great and I am happy so far.

BTW, My Optima Red Top is crap. Will not hold a charge at all. I can charge it and then put a meter on it and you can watch it drain. Hope they will exchange it cause it was bought only in Dec last year!

96 Tahoe. They were blue leather but dyed them and the res of my interior black. Can beat them for $25! Especially since both are power! lol

Re: The Teardown And Rebuild! Pics Inside!
Just went on my lunch break and traded the battery. They didnt give me any crap about it. Said the one I have is the model that gets returned the most so I got a different one.

Nice. Console is looking good. did you allow room for your layers of glass tho? lookin kinda tight.
I have never had a problem with my red top. was yours dual post?

I have been waiting all morning for you to reply. lol
There is still room for the glass. Since the sub has its own enclosure there wont have to be as many layers to just get the shape Im after.
Mine was the dual post, 1000CA, 800CCA red top.
I traded for just a slightly smaller one. Wont be bad cause later on Im going to add another one for the audio/video Im planning.
Dont buy those big single inverted leds, thats what the blue ones I had were and they were not bright in the guages. Get the 6wled from superbright.

Re: The Teardown And Rebuild! Pics Inside!
Ok fellers, also want some input on a bed treatment. I am puttin two amps (T4004 for my 2 component sets, T1001 for the sub), a digital cap, 2 Optima batteries, and a possible set of components in the bed along with a flip down monitor from the bed cover. I have already bought 10 yards of the suede and Im wanting to make some panels to clean everything up.
Something kinda like this
