Project Vengeance - '97 C1500 Build-Up

Ok guys….finally we begin. Sorry for the delay…but it’s worth it

Da Tank (David) and I started working on it today….and here’s how far we got. May take a post or two so read ‘em up

Project Vengeance Build-Up Day 1

Got the fenders cut up and ready to roll…

Here’s the awesome freakin’ air tool I used…

Da Tank rollin’ one of the fenders….

Snatched my drum brakes off….one on the right is one I cleaned up with a steel brush…

Getting ‘em ready for paint…

Painted…once again using the high temp Chrysler blue paint….

Now for the flip kit….

Gotta remove these…

…and remove the shocks…

Took the leafs out….

Re: Project Vengeance - '97 C1500 Build-Up

Putting the relocator bracket on…

…and the new U-bolts and brackets….

Made the marks needed for the notch….

Put the brake drum covers back on cause we’re going to do the notch tomorrow….

Had to get the wheels back on it just to show you guys a little tease…and we had to turn the truck around because we were going to do some on the front….

It will drop a little bit more in the rear once the notch is put on….

Don’t mind the stop hitting right now…I’m not driving the truck…hell it doesn’t even have shocks! Just wanted to tease you guys

Now we began working on the front end a little….like mentioned, we’re going to finish up the notch tomorrow…shocks should be here Thursday…

Check out this awesome home made “caliper tool” Works good as a mofo too…

Got the driver’s side tore down…

Removed the shock…

…and the coil…nice little comparison to my new 3’’ drop coils…

Re: Project Vengeance - '97 C1500 Build-Up

…and this is how we leave…with the driver’s side pretty much ready for new stuff….so we got to finish that side up…work on the passenger side…and cut the notch in Won’t put the shock extender and new shocks on until Thursday when their suppose to be here…

Hope you guys like build day 1.…more tomorrow …oh and sorry the truck is dirty

Re: Project Vengeance - '97 C1500 Build-Up

Ok guys…build-up day 2

See that bolt on the other side where the shock mounts?….had to drill it out to get that in there to thread it because the damn factory one broke off…it was hell getting that thing out of there….but anyways…removed the bump stop on the right side as well…

..and there it is…

Got the spring in…

Placed the new spindle on…

Had to trim the cover plate to match the new spindle perfectly…

The other side…

Installing the 2nd spring…

Spindle…

Installing the new bearings, races, and seals in the rotors….

And voila!

Let the front down….

Here’s the pics with the front done but the NOTCH was NOT done…

Raising the rear and getting ready to finish with the notch…

Re: Project Vengeance - '97 C1500 Build-Up

Laying valance…not frame …you can see Da Tank back there too…

Cut out for the notch…and no…the wire you see was a very, very old wire that use to run to neons that use to be under the truck years ago….I gotta rip that sh!t out….we didn’t even cut it with the saw

Bolting in the notch….

…and other side….

Here’s what we did with the lines that were in the way….rounded out the hole to their bracket and bolted them in where the notch bolt comes out

Here it is….still without shocks since their suppose to come in tomorrow…but it’s lowered for now. Got to finish a few things up…and I cut the top cross member type thing out above the differential so it wouldn't hit that….I got to go get that crossover pipe for my true duals raised up too….it hasn’t hit or scrubbed anything when I test drove it even without shocks….but as you can see it hangs too low and I’m not having it.

Officially SLAMMED …now I need my damn shocks to come in

There's still a chit load of work to do...so keep coming back!

Ok guys…today was more laid back. First off though, my shocks didn’t come in today (Go Figure)…sad thing is…their 1 hour away from me and UPS is saying there going to take until Monday to arrive…that’s some fvcking BS so I’m going to complain tomorrow. They told me to call back then….so wish me luck. UPS sucks so damn bad…

Started to work on taking out the hinge pin….

Here’s the old worn out one….

Brand new from NAPA baby

We put mine in and later on had to put one in Da Tank’s Yukon….here was a quick pic…

We also had to replace the inside door handle in my truck because due to the hinge pin being bad , the door handle gradually bent and broke itself.

Not color matched to the rest of my door panel now…but it’s alright. I’m going to be completely re-doing my interior anyways….

Also…got the valance taken off….yeah I know it might not look as good as with the valance…but the damn thing was hitting more bumps then Paris Hilton….so it had to go. I’ll probably run one only when I go to shows….

..and Nickleahy23, I haven’t forgot about you bro…I’m going to get those pics when I get my shocks

Re: Project Vengeance - '97 C1500 Build-Up

OK guys…someone sent me a miracle today….and here’s why…all that BS with UPS….was just that….BS. I called them this morning and they said my shocks would be arriving in Edenton, NC (about an hour from here) today and would not be delivered until Monday. Pretty much the same thing I heard last night. Well, I walked out the door today and guess what….the shocks were on my damn door step.

The cat-eye grille shell and billet grille were suppose to be here today via FedEx….and guess what….it showed up.

Also, the front paintable bumper and front valance shipped via DHL were not suppose to be here until Monday…..but they showed up today.

So you ask me how awesome today was?…pretty damn awesome guys. UPS, FedEx, and DHL all brought me the rest of my stuff today.

So, here’s build day #4.…shock time baby….and pics…

The first pic is showing you my old jack on the right and the new race-style low-profile jack I bought this morning. I bought it because my old one won’t fit under my truck anymore….and a buddy of mine at NAPA gave me a great deal on this one…big shout out to him for that deal. This jack is awesome. We timed ourselves and it only took approx. 6.99 secs to get this thing to full lift….it takes more then 30 secs for the other one…

Bumper with valance behind it….

Doetsch Tech Nitro Slammer Shocks…

Cat-Eye Grille Shell with Billet Insert….

Got the front shocks in…

Random pic of spring underneath…

Got the rear shocks on….

…and yes guys….I put the new valance on here now. I’m still going to need to take it off when I go to get my alignment and exhaust work done…but it’s on for now. I’ve been driving it today and it’s been hitting everything known to man….so hopefully it will cut itself down like you guys said…ahahahah.

Went out and took some more pics….

In case you guys haven’t already noticed…here is the new plate I was talking about….NC state law also switched from blue letters to red letters…

Another random pic….this house has been abandoned for ages and when these buzzards were all around it and on top of it…it was pretty creepy….haha.

My truck compared to my buddy’s BMW….

..and yes…he’s getting that muffler fixed…fvcking idiots turned it when it has enough clearance to tuck under…

We tinted his taillights a while back…they came out perfect….

So…now we have to begin to prep the body. We got to get all the dents out and sand the clear coat off…then we’re going to be installing the shell and front bumper and hopefully spraying the truck in a custom tinted green primer. Jeremy @ Southern Concepts is giving me the hook up on primer. When it's time for paint it will all be taken down to the metal and completely re-done.

Whatcha whatcha whatcha think?….ahah.

Re: Project Vengeance - '97 C1500 Build-Up

Thanks you two

Today wasn't a build-up day...but I still got some work done so I'll post the pictures.

Took the truck to an exhaust shop and got them to make me a new crossover pipe and they raised it as much as they possibly could. You could see where the old one had been slightly rubbing...of course. Got some leaks fixed while it was there too.

I also got them to go ahead and weld my turndowns on. I took the clamps off and shot a pic.

Tuesday morning I'm going back in there and having an X-Pipe welded into the true dual system. So, expect more pictures to come by Tuesday afternoon. I had to take the damn valance off again to get it on the lift...and I won't be putting it back on until AFTER Tuesday when the work is done

Re: Project Vengeance - '97 C1500 Build-Up

Well...today was a waste. I drove 30mins just for a buddy of mine to tell me he couldn't align my truck. He said his machine can only do up to 19.5'' of wheel...so I'm screwed. Of course...being a master thinker like I am ...I came up with an idea. I have 4 16'' wheels...one is mounted on a tire and I have the same other 3 tires not mounted. So, I'm going back Wednesday morning and getting them to mount the 3 tires on the other 3 wheels and align my truck by putting those 4 wheels on. Then they can take them off and put my 20's back on

It will be done Wednesday

Adam is coming down Friday night and spending the night at David’s house…you need to drive your ass down here…. We'll be welding on my truck Sat. morning before the meet.

Re: Project Vengeance - '97 C1500 Build-Up

Ok guys...got some stuff done today. Sorry I never got you guys pics of the X-Pipe...you can't get pics of it...it's behind a metal plate...I have some but they are horrible.

I got the truck aligned...well...they aligned it as best they could anyways...it's camber was -2.3 on the right side!!! It drove good as hell too! All better now though...

I also ordered PAINT...yes PAINT...NOT PRIMER today. Paint was cheaper for what I wanted and I'm going to be laying it flat. No clear coat...just straight up hardener and paint Can't let you guys know a color yet...it's a surprise...

Lots of body work to do this weekend...and then paint...but here's some pics...I cleaned it up

Re: Project Vengeance - '97 C1500 Build-Up

Jesus....ok guys here's some progress...sorry it took so damn long...been through too much **** here in the last month...most you guys can't even imagine. I'm fvcked as far as help goes too...but we'll get it done.

Got the tailgate handle relocated. NO I DID NOT GET A CHANCE TO BODY FILLER THE TAILGATE YET...so that's why you can still see everything. There's so much body work to do that it's not even worth it right now. Enjoy the pics!

EDIT: Yes the truck is dirty as ****...that's what happens when it doesn't rain in 2 months...dust is everywhere

Re: Project Vengeance - '97 C1500 Build-Up

Everyone keeps asking me what's next...sorry I didn't say!

I got some new headlights coming in...so when they get here I'm going to mount them, paint the cat-eye black, and get all that up there. Get the new grille to bumper filler panel put in and probably go ahead and slap the new smoothie paintable bumper up there while I'm at it.

Also, I'll be cutting the steel out to weld the stake pockets up with...and the bed rail holes up with.

We're going to relocate the gas filler to the inside of the bed for the time being so we'll be getting the gas filler door welded up with the shave panel I have for it too!

Re: Project Vengeance - '97 C1500 Build-Up

Got the new headlights in today...so I'll probably be selling the old projectors if anyone is interested.

Slapped some black primer on the grille shell too...now when the new hyper white light bulbs come in...I can get to work on the front end

Ok guys…I got the front end on today…..somewhat. I’m so disappointed and pissed right now. The grille to bumper filler panel I got from C/K Resto is ****….****, ****, ****….mixed with a little more ****…and then stirred around in a huge landfill filled with ****….hence, the ****tyness. As you’ll see in the HORRIBLE pictures below….it really sucks. It’s too long for the truck, WAY too flexible, and the ends do not properly sit down…oh…and did I mention it messes with the grilles fitment because of that too?

Check this POS out….

But anyways….fvck it. I gave them a call…and they wanted pictures….so I gave them all they could have. I shouldn’t have bought it from them when I can get them myself…but I figured I’d give C/K Resto a shot…I like ordering from different companies other then myself from time to time…let’s me give people other alternatives if we don’t carry a product they want. C/K Resto did return my money after they saw the pics…so I guess I’m going to call the stealership about a good one.

Ehhh…on to better things…

Here’s the bulbs…Hyper Whites baby…

…and here’s where I installed the new headlights…Nice comparison…

A naked front end!

Got the bumper on

The shell….

…ok…if you can look past the chitty panel….here’s the new look….

I’ll get some afternoon/night pics of the lights shortly guys.

New lower CD player delete tray…..

New driver’s side door handle…..

Been rockin’ an empty space for the tray for quite a few years now….and been rockin a busted, broke ass driver’s side door handle for a while too

Ok guys...don't fvcking e-hit me or anything....I've got news...bad news...and good news...

News - Work is getting done...so STFU

Good News - Adding some products to the mix. I'm suiciding the doors, shaving and popping them, shaving the rear tails, putting LEDs in the tailgate....and some other things may come that you'll just have to wait and see

Bad News - Don't have a damn cam anymore...so the pics will come later...cause I'm gonna borrow one to snap some shots here and there...so I can't really keep you guys up to date without pics. Maybe I'll go buy one...

Re: Project Vengeance - '97 C1500 Build-Up

Just got a message from Jeremy

It reads

"Tell all the guys who are looking through the thread that the roll pan is welded in, the stake pockets are shaved, the bed rail holes are shaved, the gas filler was relocated to the inside of the bed, and the gas door filler was also shaved. The CD player delete tray was installed too for what that's worth. Everything that was shaved was grinded down and primed for now....but no body filler was used just yet. Next things to happen are the antenna getting shaved, building a box to surround the gas filler, inside the bed that will feature a billet gas door, and the bed will be bedlined"

Couple Pics he sent me via phone

And a message from his phatness

"Yo bro tell the fellas in the thread that I relocated the antenna to the inside of the fender under the hood and shaved it today....got some misc holes shaved where the bedliner was installed....also picked up a billet gas door to put on the top of the box I'm going to build for the gas filler neck in the bed...hehe."

BTW: He is currently in the process of making a box for the gas cap, stay tuned

Re: Project Vengeance - '97 C1500 Build-Up

Ok guys….I shot some pics after we got everything shaved….it was in the afternoon though but some of them turned out kinda cool IMO.

….and here’s what we shaved…..like mentioned, no body filler was used just yet.

Here’s the relocated antenna…

I’ll have updates soon with the box for the gas filler that will feature a billet gas door on top. Then, it’s time to bedline.

In other news, I remote started my truck the other day….went into the house….and when I came back it was off. I was like wtf?….so I started to walk towards the truck and then it tried starting itself again out of no where. Then, I saw smoke coming out from underneath the hood. I stopped time with my brain and quickly popped the hood to see flames….I got them out and what happened was the fuse that is plugged between the wires for the remote start had blown and caught fire. Thankfully, it didn’t burn or ruin anything else….but it made for a good heart jump ;)

If everything work outs the way I want it to, you guys will be seeing a suicide kit, door popper kit, shaved handles of course, shaved tails, and LEDs in the gate within the next 2-3 months
