I was listening to Sirius the other day and they mentioned that Nashville was on their 3rd straight day of 100+ weather. All I could think of was "damn, I hope it gets that low here soon".

I get you man. I just got my ac fixed 2 weeks ago and its been out for 2 summers. Thats sucks and we are nowhere near the heat you guys are.

Haha that's pretty much what it all comes down to: hot is hot and A/C is a gift that I take full advantage of.

Well my bed is in all bare metal right now. Tail light fillers are in. Gas door is shaved. One door is swing backwards. I'd say we had a pretty productive weekend. I will get pics up sometime this week.

Damn, you don't mess around. Hours after seeing you at indy the thing's all ripped apart. Right on, keep it up. Late.

Here are a few pics of my bed. This is what we have accomplished in two nights:

We also took measurements for the sheet metal for the bed. We are going to borrow a plasma cutter tonite and cut out the stock tubs.

Re: Fullsize going under the knife...again
Took the whole truck to bare metal so we can get all the body work perfect. This way we dont have to use alot of bondo to smooth things out where the skin and lights are. The paint that was on there was not very good so i wanted to completely do away with that so i dont have problems down the road.

The tail lights are custom classics.

Michigan is a little far for me haha. We've got one we can borrow from my buddies dads shop. He is the one making all the sheet metal for my bed so really all we have to do is weld it in.

Here are a few pictures of some of our progress. Doors are getting close to being done. We need to finish supporting them and put in a door stop. Also the third brake light was shaved. I just got back from wyoming. We should be working on my bed this week.

As someone who recently did the same thing to a std cab GMC...

When my doors needed extra support I welded a piece of tubing between the two mounts vertically, then welded two pieces of tubing from the vertical piece to the back of the cab. Gained me some extra strength.

That door is reinforced like crazy though. Wow.

We welded a rod between the brackets on mine like that and also supported that to the cab floor pretty good. Also we used that sheet on the door for support and we are going to run two more pieces to the front of the door to support it the best we can. Since im going .5" from the door i want it to be strong lol so i dont drag door when i get out haha.

I hope to be doing body work by turkey day. That means i have to finish the doors, start welding the sheet metal in the bed (everything is already cut and rounded just needs weled in), sell my rims so i can get my 24's, narrow my axle, channel the cab, tub the fire wall, weld trailor fenders to my sierra fenders that i do not have yet lol If anyone is selling some let me know.
