Re: Fullsize going under the knife...again
i was thinking the same thing do you have to skim the whole thing in body filler before you prime or do u use high biuld primer to fill in all the grind marks

Re: Fullsize going under the knife...again
from what i know on bare metal you can use feather fill, thats made for when you take all the paint off usually on older cars, but this bitchin ride is new, thats why i am wondering unless you want the staight metal look idk

Re: Fullsize going under the knife...again
burkett just got done making a wishbone and a couple of cross members. Also got the 2x4 rails welded in. I just ordered a bunch of tabs and bar ends for the lower link. we are doing a bag on bar setup inside/under the frame.

Re: Fullsize going under the knife...again
anything we were doing any metal work on is takin down to bare metal so everything can be welded in flush with minimal body filler. Also the truck has been repainted a few times and i wanted to get all that **** off of it and start over. It was re painted twice on top of the stock paint along with some body work.

Re: Fullsize going under the knife...again
you think that link setup will give you enough lift to untuck your wheels with your giant body drop without throwing your pinion off

Re: Fullsize going under the knife...again
yeah it will be fine. its very similar to the suicide doors 3link set up on my buddies s10. he gets like 12" now that he cantilevered it. we are making a new lower link of out of 2x4 and weld on bar ends with the bags on bars. They will be under/inside of the frame so it will get good lift to get in and out of places.

Re: Fullsize going under the knife...again
i thought that the links had to be the same length? isnt that wishbone way too short?

also i like the bolt on diff bracket, where did you get that?

4/7 drop
flowmaster 50 series
K&N intake system
Corvette servo
Cadillac door handles and gauges
Pioneer cd player
Shaved tailgate and antenna
raised crossmeber and carrier bearing
welded in roll pan

Re: Fullsize going under the knife...again
we havent built the lower link yet. Waiting on tabs and ends to build it.

I used air craft stripper and a soft wheel 100 grit. Worked great!
