Re: Kruznlow.. Part II, the rebuild.
not much to update yet, picked up steel for making body mounts today.. and getting another 24' stick of 2x4 fri for rear frame and x-members. for frt and rear ones should be easy. middle ones are lower and only 1 1/8" off the ground from the top of the mount.. may just put it in once the cab is sitting on the frt and rears.
really thinking of goin with a rear frame setup like josh's http://www.fullsizechevy.com/forums/...-obs-ecsb.html
wish he'd post some new pics of it, no way to get a hold of him for updates..

Re: Kruznlow.. Part II, the rebuild.
nuttin much but got body mounts made the other night.. plasma was acting up and kept tripping the breaker.. need to switch it back to 220v but been lazy..
that was a lot of cutting and grinding smooth.. will cut holes once they are mounted.. also need to bevel the edges where they will meet the frame yet or jsut gap them an 1/8"

Re: Kruznlow.. Part II, the rebuild.
picked up more steel today, another 24' of 3/16 2x4 box, 14' of 2x4 1/8" , some 2" ID seamless tube for my reciever hitch, and misc metal for plating and so on.
i have a new idea for crossmembers for my main rails.. heres a pic below.. it wouldnt interfere with much, would have plenty of room for driveline, strongest way to brace the frame, and can easily run the exhaust through cutouts with 3" ID 1/8" tube welded in. this is what i got the 1/8" 2x4 tube for. my frame is obviously all boxed in though as pic is C and I channel.

Re: Kruznlow.. Part II, the rebuild.
I see the brackets you made for mounts, but how are you gonna attach the body? Are you gonna use the factory rubber mounts?

Re: Kruznlow.. Part II, the rebuild.
yup yup.. i want to get them welded on, and the frame braced and then measure out the exact centers of the holes b4 i cut them out. i plan to use factory rubber bushings, most of mine are still in great shape..

Re: Kruznlow.. Part II, the rebuild.
well, been busy. got the bulk of the frame built. now on to rear suspension design. i had the cab, core support, fenders, and old bedside i cut off on it and it looks awesome! thinking of doin a superlift 4 link type setup with a watts. bags on the outer bars, other bars on the inside. and watts behind obviously. thing im debating is how to fit the bags into the picture, need to sit down and do some mocking up. dont want to do a rear canti anymore..
