Re: Chevelle tear down + rebuild!!

Yeah, hey didnt tell me not to, but I want them to see how off it is with the motor there. Oh well. Over the weekend I'll probably go ahead and take out the driveshaft, the trans crossmember bolts and the motor mount bolts so it's ready to go after they look at it.

Re: Chevelle tear down + rebuild!!

Update: Here's where I left it the other day.

Dan and Ken came over last night and we pulled the motor. Threw on some crappy valve covers to take any abuse from the chain.

Here's where we left it. I'll probably get the trans out tonight.

Yeah, I would've been pretty ticked if they had gotten messed up since I put em on about two weeks before.

Thanks man. I'll probably only work on it long enough to drop the trans and that wont take much time. If I'm going to do more I'll let you know.

Awesome man, great to see that you are going to get it back on the road. Mines sitting at my uncles house, waiting for me to get money for floors.

Thanks. You are right on the wheels. About 10 years ago I was at my uncle's house geting some welding done and he had the wheels off of his 82 Vette. So for the heck of it I put them on one side of the 70 I had at the time.

I thought it looked pretty cool and it kinda stuck in my head. For a new set from some of the Corvette suppliers they are about $1300. Never had that kind of cash back then. Back around July I came across a set on craigslist and picked them up for $125! Bought some new center caps and repainted the black area's and finally got em on the current 70 about three weeks before the wreck.

Yeah, I really like the look. Plus I've never seen them on anything except those year Vette's so it's pretty unique.

Re: Chevelle tear down + rebuild!!

The new headers were sitting at my door when I got home last night! I was going to unbox them and start playing with them but it was about 12:15 so I'll check 'em out when I get home from work today.
