Boz's Nbs Ecsb Frame Laying Build
Boz has been gathering suspension parts for a while and we are finally starting the suspension. I'm gonna post a few pics because I am wondering what you guys did on you Kp Weld in Notch.

The outside and top plate install went pretty good. This is my first big welding project so don't be too hard on me.

Here's where my question comes in what did you guys do about the way the notch fits the frame in the rear. it fits pretty nice everywhere else but the frame is boxed in the front and not in the back so I wondered if you guys brought it in the trimmed the top plate or boxed the frame in the rear or just left a gap at the back?

its lookin pretty good. I think most guys would box in that rear part of the frame about 1' to 18" behind that notch

Re: Boz's Nbs Ecsb Frame Laying Build
just bring it out and follow the lines of the notch. dont push it in..
and what size tires you running. for a 265/35/22 you only need the inside of the notch 1"
above the frame.

Re: Boz's Nbs Ecsb Frame Laying Build
did you weld those two pieces already onthe truck from the inside of the notch. because those welds that are showing in the first pics look like surface welds with almost no penetration

In your pics it looks like your notch is allot more than an inch over the frame. We are only running stock dubs now but we want room for more. I'm not sure where you don't think the weld is penetrated?

I didn't know we had a special place for build threads. If I would have posted this anywhere else I don't think I would have gotten any help.

ohh it is lol
it sactually 4" above the frame. way too much becauase at the time i didnt know any better.
i still need to take out 2 1/2 inches out of it. which leaves me room for a 31" tall tire and a bumpstop.
i will do so when i take the bed off to finish underneath it and start the body drop on the cab

Youve got it in the right place DJ, build looks good so far. I didnt see much on your welds but pics dont show as much as seeing in person. Keep us updated and check the welds to make sure, can never be too sure on something that holds the rid together.
2005 EXT Silvy currently 4/6 McGaughys drop on 20" Centerlines.
Coming Soon: 5" lift on stock wheels with 33" tires.

FSC doesn't have a build section. Street section is fine. Looking good so far.

Re: Boz's Nbs Ecsb Frame Laying Build
Ok guys here's what I decided to do to fix the fit of the notch!
First I cut the frame out.

I had that section of the frame so I made a few cuts.

I wound up with this.

frame without this section

box section mocked up

rear section boxed

One side starting to come together

Also pulled leaf springs and hangers. You gotta love those rivets!
