Project: Sub Urban Assult v2
why v2 you ask? cause v1 saw better days...

sad days. frame bent in 6 places, completely ripped off both front wheels/suspension/arms/driveshafts, buckled the floor 8" in the cab and pushed the firewall in 10"...but i shall not cry with my giant head buried in a giant pillow. no, i will buy a better...newer...larger vehicle!!

enter v2!
06 3/4 ton, 8.1L, leather, power everything, dvd, nav, tow mirrors, loaded.

brought her home yesterday and immediatly debadged and got my black powdercoated H2 wheels on it. the centers are being Line-x'd...so they will go on this weekend along with N-Fab nerfs and these...

i was able to salvage the roof rack and lights, so once i track down some Escalade roof rails, ill remount it.

Re: Project: Sub Urban Assult v2
it was on rt.94 about 3 miles south of rt.18. some lady turned in front of me and i broadsided her at about 55mph. sent me airborn, and i landed nose first in that ditch.

as far as i know, she is ok...im so-so. i have had the worst headache of my life for 2 solid weeks. i cant sleep at all. ive got some nerve pinch or damage in my c5 vert. i go back for testing next week. ill know more then.

i forgot to post the wheel pic

Re: Project: Sub Urban Assult v2
ya, im not repeating the all billet grill! lol

i did get the roof rack and lights off, but i am going to put on an Escalade roof rail system before i put the rack on this truck. its a sleeker lower profile rail...but i have to wait for new mounting for the rack. im also going to run 4 Lightforce 10" lights on the roof now with 2 black and 2 yellow covers. i dont know if im going to run the spare on the roof again, or custom build a swing away for the rear bumper. well see...

i just dont know if i want to go thru a color change. im wicked picky about stuff, and unless it gets stripped down to metal and the motor pulled...i KNOW i wont be happy with a color change. not to mention that amount of labor on a truck this size. plus, this thing is MINT...it would be a shame to trash a perfectly good paint job. i think it may be easier and more practical to 2-tone it with Line-X on the bottom. if i do decide to do a color change, im going to do the newer style front end, shave the gas door, gate, and rear door handles...but thats not currantly the plan. id rather spend that money on the 10-12" cognito kit and a Kenne Bell supercharger.

Re: Project: Sub Urban Assult v2
thanks everyone!

im still wicked sore and in some pain from the accident (mmm delicious Vicodin) so i cant do too much yet...but i was able to get a friend to help me accomplish a few item

i had an extra grill laying around, and i wanted to test out how i felt about a black grill. i sanded and sprayed a coat of bedliner on it just as a tester. So far im liking it, and i think it will really offset the front bumper nicely. i think ive decided on doing the Putco widemouth grill. also threw some Ventshades on it...not cause i love how they look, but they do function very well. Hurray for Summit's yard sale, $14! We also 100% debadged the truck

we also got the rear bumper on. this turned out to be more or a PITA than expected. the OEM bolts were a bitch to get loose, which we expected. then the hitch was wicked bent...so we got it back in place (sorta, it is getting replaced soon). then we wrestled with getting the bumper aligned and square to the body. im not 100% happy with the gaps the Buckstop leaves. It cost an aweful lot to be sorta sloppy...but im picky about stuff like that. I may fix it, i may sell it and buy the ARB rear....well see. Buckstop also messed up and didnt cut the holes for the license plate lights correctly. I could grind them and make it work, but i think im going to machine my own lights, with a twist! I wired up the reverse lights so they look completely OEM added...cause im even more anal about wiring.

I also added 1.5" spacers to the rear wheels. now the front and rear track are the exact same width, and my H2 wheels covers will fit now.

3" body lift in 20 minutes?!? just rip off the runners! i wish i could leave them off, but i haul alot of stumpies.

Got the N-Fab's welded up (which is dumb to have to do, come on N-Fab!!), Line-X'd and ready for install on my day off Thursday. im also hoping to get the front bumper and lights installed Thurs as well.

I was hoping my Escalade roof rails would be here this week so i could get the basket on the roof....next week i guess

Damn dude, looks like she was the one with the assault vehicle, glad you're ok (except for the headache and some pain)

Love that bumper, can't wait to see it on. Can you have the centercaps painted black? Even a flat black... That might look cool.
