full cadillac conversion coming soon
2001 chevrolet silverado, single cab short bed, started a complete escalade conversion

started off with the escalade front end kit, thnx to FBIrides for the direct bolt on

escalade EXT tail lights molded into the bed, still need to be cleaned up as you can see...

another view of the tail lights, and shaved tail gate handle

escalade fender moldings, side cladding, yet to be installed

escalade EXT quarter panel side moldings

lots of mods gonna be needed

escalade rear bumper

2007 cadillac escalade factory 22 inch wheels

sitting next to it, just to see what it will look like

pulled the bed off, getting ready to bag

10 inch notch's in place, should be more than enough to lay on 22's

measuring out for the crossmember

crossmember in place, lower link bars in place

curious how it would lay! got excited when i saw it on the ground

wishbone in place

new 20 gal. fuel cell, on mounts i had to fab up...

undercoated everything

these are my new bed floor mounts i made, i raised them 12 inches
should be enough room to clear everything

now im just waiting on a fuel lines and fittings and plasma cutter for bed, more pics to be posted soon i promise, let me know what you think so far.....

What size wheels are you going to run?

I like the wishbone design.

Only thing I could even think of would be nixing the rear bumper. You've obviously got the skills to mod the cladding to have the rear bumper deleted.

Notch is a little excessive but maybe its due to the mounting point of you wishbone.

Re: started bagging my silverado-pics inside
I would gusset the front crossmember that the wishbone is mounted to and that notch is much larger than it needs to be. To tuck a 22 with a 265/35 tire the bottom of the notch only needs to be 1" off the top of the frame.

Re: started bagging my silverado-pics inside
i think the notch is made to lay on a 24 inch wheel, the hoop i have on the crossmember stands up way too tall, but i didn't feel like cutting it down, cuz everything is going to be hidden under my bed, it all works though thats all i was worried about, gets about 23inches of lift

Yeh, what he said about excessive. Not much you can do now but you should think about getting a bump stop to take about the extra room that is not needed in the notch.

Re: started bagging my silverado-pics inside
yeah i still have the stock bump stops i was going to mount under the inside of the notch, but it will hit the frame on the ground before the bump stops hit, so its still a waste of time

I understand that it works, but you will want to brace it because it is high enough that it may bend forward and back once you start driving it. It would be better to gusset it for safety.

And I would venture to say that you would be able to tuck a 26 with that notch.

It is not only NOT a waste of time but it is critical for your frame. If you don't put the bump stop in where it hits the axle as the frame hits then the back will sag down. I know this because mine does that since we did the body drop. I have to add in a bumpstop now that will hit as the body and frame hit the ground.

im going to brace from the hoop of the crossmember into the sides of the frame like around the stock bed mounts, i was going to order some gussets through suicide doors but they said it really wasn't needed
