Re: LM7 in my '97
ok after about 4 hours of cutting and cussing I got my old 5.7 harness cut up and reinstalled in the truck. This harness retains all the lights abs and and other non engine functions.

Re: LM7 in my '97
It only ran for as long as you saw and we left right after we were done. Plus it has ventilation and and its a shop not a garage. Sorry to hear about your neighbor though.

Re: LM7 in my '97
Nice swap, glad you got it running. That wiring job looked like a huge undertaking.

I've heard of people tending to cringe when you say "LSx swap" but this is the first I've seen a full on sezure.

Sweet swap!! Definately on my list of things to do. Question, does the oil pan hang below the front crossmember at all?

I believe it does alittle and I can see where that would be a concern for you. Ill check into it and see how much but the simple solution is to swap to a f-body oil pan.

Here she is on the trailer ready to go to the exhaust man. She wasn't very happy about riding on a trailer but I promised her she could drive back home and she calmed down alittle.

Nice swap man! You'll like the 5.3. It's a good engine.
