Reworkin The Hoe... Layin Frame
Well after alot of thought i have decided to buy a new daily driver and start working on my tahoe to get it to fully lay out. I will be adding torsion style bag brackets up front and adding and cantilever attatchment to the back. i will also be notching the frame enough to lay out on a 30 inch tall tire. im not sure as to what i will have to do as far as tubs go in the rear . if i can get away with it i would like to leave them stock or maybe mod them as little as possiable. here is the start of my project ..

front bag mounts and gussets

ill get them cut out on the plasma tonight and hopefully be picking up the steel for the rest of the build this afternoon..

ps... the drawing of the brackets looks crooked in the pics but trust me they are straight in person lol

You are going to be cutting alot to lay on a 30" tire.

Re: Reworkin The Hoe... Layin Frame
im hopein not... the truck was originally a 4x4 so the frame is lower to the ground to start off with so that will help some.. right now im about 3-4 inches from layin frame on a 265/50/20. only time will tell i guess

Re: Reworkin The Hoe... Layin Frame
Just saw this, what did you get as a daily? Have you sold your other wheels yet?
Also go for the BOA, I just rode in a new tahoe stock floored on 22s with the bag over axle and it suprised the hell out of me, you couldnt tell a diff. from stock. It had a re8 and a decent shock on it, But I would imagine that an re7 would be just fine. I might be doing something like this down the road.

Re: Reworkin The Hoe... Layin Frame
i got just a little beater nissian that was left at the shop. its nothing pretty but it will do the job. nah i still have my wheels. im just gonna use them until i need some new tires and then prolly make the switch to some 22s. i was thinkin about doin a canti setup but it will just be so much easier doing a BOA setup, and since it wont be my daily anymore if it doesnt ride all that great it wont matter that much. also i ment to ask you if you put a fule cell in yours or are you still running the stock tank?

I put a cell in it. JAZ cell from jegs. Its the foam filled plastic one with the sump. It works just fine and fits perfect but its starting to warp. So I would go aluminum if I had to do it again.

So,,,help me out here fellers. When a 4x4 tahoe is layed out,are the rockers a couple more inches off the ground than a 4x2? Because the frame is taller?
