My first attempt at fabrication ( bumper )
First off, I wasnt sure where to put this thread. If its in the wrong area ( or there is a better place ) please move it there.

Ok, I have a stock bumper on my Yukon, and well I was looking at various bumpers in every 4X4 mag I have and thought " Why not make my own " some of them look very straight forward and simple. So I hope.

So Ive started to fabricate my own, mind you Ive never fabbed ANYTHING, ever. This would be my first attempt. So far so good ( I think ) I need to remove the stock bumper at this point and well its just too damn hot out right now so Im going to take a break. Maybe some advice or even critisism would help at this point. A point in the right direction.

The plan would be to have a winch hidden behind it. I plan on cutting holes on the underside for cooling. Probably cut some more holes in the front for either lights or a place to tie onto if needed.

Looks like a challenge. The prefab cardboard looks alright, IMO. Nice shape. Good luck!

Looks good, My only suggestion would be, don't build out of cardboard.

Re: My first attempt at fabrication ( bumper )
Looks like a good start. You need either more cardboard or casters to hols up the winch on your middle piece.

make some quick releases for it, or just carry a roll of duct tape. if it starts to rain, pull it off.

Looks like a great start man. Good looking truck and welcome to the site!

I'm not too sure about the rudder piece going all of the way to the ground though. Isnt that normally at the back of the boat.
