04 Chevy Silverado Ext Bagged

what up.........Ive been crusin the google machine trying to find a good Full size Truck forum since I picked up my new Truck.....

I ran across this and just felt homie so I stayed......

Quick thing about me :

I am 28, Live in oklahoma, Sell stereos for a living......Married with a 1 year old ................

Ne way now to the good stuff.....

I just picked up a 04 silverado Ext V6, with 18k miles and in need of some serious love......

The truck has been parked for several years and the windows were left down.....and the bag setup NOT finished! but I did steal it for what i payed for it..
Out of all of it I was NOT thrilled about the V6 but Figure you could swap a Older Vortech V8 into it without having to change to a LT1 harness computer..... But that is besides the point...

Its fine with the v6, my main concern is getting it back up and running again...

Here is where it stands now.... The Bags need Finished, The brakes need to be bled, Extend the fuel lines for the tank moved to the bed, some wiring needs to be fixed/finished, Paint body work, and sheet metal done

They Day after I brought it home...

Re: 04 Chevy Silverado Ext Bagged

Wow thx for the fast post guys.......

Yea I Literally waited to get stopped by the cops and get arrested hauling it off.....Thats how cheap i got it.....

So far I have not started it yet... I got to extend the fuel lines so it can reach the tank in the bed.....It was moved for bags

I am unsure about the setup for the 2 link and bag behind bar thing, its deff a akward panhard bar too....

the welding is solid but i think i will move the bags and go bag on bar triangulated 4 link.....

Yea you called it man...... Also did the fuel door and the bed rails where he added material ....

This guy DID know how to lay a NICE bead but he sure didnt realize that thin sheet metal warps with all that heat.....

tailgate is the worst of it all and i should be scoring a new one soon..... MAYBE i will change up to a Stepside bed....Ive always wanted a stepside....

I am better with Fiberglass than the metal.........you SHOULD see my Eagle talon and the FG install i started...

Re: 04 Chevy Silverado Ext Bagged

Kinda sad when you start hearing stories about 04s being left out in the elements. I'm used to sentences like that being about vehicles from the 50s and 60s. Regardless, sounds like you've got your hands on a good project.

Re: 04 Chevy Silverado Ext Bagged

well I spend a few hours trying to relocate the factory fuse box under the hood............. ..........I got really no where..... I need to do 1 of 2 things ..........Wait till I have some fenders to put it in....OR I was gonna Fiberglass my own fender tubs.... i cant think of anything easyer for myself since i do it so often....And can pretty much make any shape i need....

I will need a rim stand in though... I know a buddie that has 2 cracked 22's that he might let me borrow....

What do you guys think is this a bad idea...?

Re: 04 Chevy Silverado Ext Bagged

I worked on checking the travel and really looking harder into the bag setup, And i removed and started cleaning the gas tank...

It was also left open with about a quarter tank of gas in it.....it evaporated out and left behind tar......

I will start cutting templates Mon night for the inner fenders...

I will make them from fiberglass....

I also have some 22's lined up for trial fit and for mocking up the fender wells, along with a new Un=Molested tailgate and bottom bumper plastic...

Anyone got any pictures of a Southern comfort Bumper for a Avalanche I can get one of those for free....Just not sure it will fit..
