actually its kind of a pain. nice when you need something, but with a 24x24 garage and a small shed, its VERY easy to run out of room. need get rid of some more stuff, but first have to figure out what i need and dont need. i have 9 engines, 6 trucks, and 2 of those trucks are going away without engines, leaving me with 5 extra engines. there's a 700R4, a burned up 60E, a TH400, and an SM465 kicking around the garage too.

Re: the long awaited build thread for my 93...
i have plans for the 60E, kinda. either going to the 77 with an NP241 behind it, or a Bravada transfer case put behind it, and dumped into a 2 dr S10 Blazer 4x4 (think Typhoon) powered by a roller cammed, Vortec headed 302 ci TBI motor, maybe dual TBs (since i'm just dreaming anyways)
pulled the motor and tranny out of the 92 last night, took a pic of the tranny, and the 4wd 700R4 and posted them on craigslist. i sold them this morning. that'll fund the 14SF swap for the 94.

Re: the long awaited build thread for my 93...
started assembling the front hubs and installing the front axleshafts today... got the drivers side shaft spindle and backing plate on. and found a couple of problems. 1. the grease fitting on my upper ball joints hits the shaft. looks like i'm in for sealed upper ball joints. no big deal, i should be able to grease them just fine with the needle greaser.
problem number 2 is a bit bigger issue. started installing the passenger side shaft, and was havin a hard time getting it to seat into the splines on the spider gear, or so i thought... wrong, it goes in... WAY too easy... i guess i found out the hard way that i have 31 spline spiders and 28 spline shafts. i'll be damned if it didnt get worse after that. went to pull the cross shaft out of the diff and figured out why the guy i got the carrier and gears from sent the open diff too. damn cross pin hits the ring gear. so i have to pull the carrier and ring gear to get my spider gears out to swap them to a set of 28 spline spiders.

Re: the long awaited build thread for my 93...
yay! more issues... started installing new races in the front hubs, and wouldnt you know, i got the wrong bearings and races. i guess that's what i get for not looking the parts up myself and trusting the jackass at Napa. ended up with a Dana 60 outer bearing and race instead of a 10 bolt/Dana 44 inner bearing. and of course, i cant find my reciept.

Re: the long awaited build thread for my 93...
SLOW! had a full weekend, then wasnt feeling good Monday night, Tuesday and Wednesday were terrible. hopefully Saturday i can make it back out to Pick N Pull and get the axle shafts they have. i did manage to score a 89-91 Burb grille on Saturday when i was there to go on the 80. would've got the axle shaft then, but forgot the snap ring pliers and the spindle nut socket, i couldnt get the snap rings out of the hubs, so no axle shafts. that's the only major holdup right now.

Re: the long awaited build thread for my 93...
don't you need the core support/lights from a 89-91 chevy or GMC to put it on an earlier truck? you can put that on an 80?

Re: the long awaited build thread for my 93...
yes, i will need an 89+ core support, but the misc pieces are what are hard to find, i can score a new core support for about $80-90 locally, the other stuff would nickle and dime the project to death.

Re: the long awaited build thread for my 93...
My dad's got like 3 sets of the lights. dbcrossy@verizon.net if you need them, there just kicking around. Just parted a 90 burb with a chickenwire grille and a 89 blazer a long time ago.
Also have the headlight surround peices in like mint shape, No grille though
THESE--
its a shame your so far away ryan, I know in a U pull yard down here theres a 90 suburban with a MINT GMC front end on it. I like the 89-91 GMC front end then the chevy, just swap billet grille in it and its so nice looking.
