No, going to run a multiple double cardan front driveshaft like shown below:

Calipers were something like $35 +$50 core each, and pads were like $30. I forget what rotors were, but less than $300 in the setup, but I still have to buy brakelines.

Re: 2 SASes 1 garage... Summer 2009
This afternoon, I listed all of my extra random stuff on seattle craigslist. 5 ring and pinions (dana 60 3.54s, 14FF 3.21s, 14SF 4.10s, 14SF 5.13s, and the 4.56s in my truck now), my complete front diff with 4.56s, 1/2 ton to 3/4 ton cv adapters, 3/4 ton cvs, spare 8 lug axle shafts, and my wheels and tires. Reason being, I found an almost new set of 44x19x16.5 boggers on 16.5x12 Eagle Alloys for a real good price (less than 1/2 of buying new). The one thing that bothers me though, is that I would be dropping $ into wheels and tires when I won't be able to put them on until I spend $ on the detroit, 5.38s, and rebuild kit for the 14FF. A deal is a deal, and I should take advantage of the opportunity is my other reasoning. Anyone know tomorrow's lotto numbers?
Well, no real progress tonight except painting the rear calipers. Got home, mowed the yard, and took the dog swimming. Like previously mentioned, not a whole lot of spare time during the week, but will be hitting it hard on the weekends. My new transfer case should be in in the next few days, the SYE kit will get rebuilt and installed. Also, get the hangers bolted up.

After thinking about this all day, I will see what my angles look like and figure it out from there. It would be much easier to make my own "zero rates" as a wedge to help with the angle in leiu of rotating the inner c's. I'll figure that one out when when the front goes in.

I thought about it with mine and decided my adjustable links would be enough, but I regret it now. I would have to cut all my link brackets and trusses off my axle and re-attach it after turning the inner c's, so it would be a major pain for me. Basically starting over. I still havn't dealt with the front drive shaft because I bought 2 houses and am low on money and time, but when I get my house and garage built I'll get back at it. I'm going to rotate my transfer case down alot and hopefully it will work out. The thing you want to avoid is having your castor be tilted too far forward. Your steering will be really jacked up if the caster is tilted much more forward than stock. So having zero rates or wedges or whatever just to tilt it, will f-up your castor. With my links/coils as well as leaf springs, it will have alot of downtravel which will make the d-shaft angle even worse at droop. Looking back, I wish I would have just cut the welds, turned the c's, rewelded and been done with it the right way. I think they did a step-by-step on the 'exteme 4x4' show. Just something I would seriously consider.

Unfortunately, it's not just that simple on a Dana 60. The press fit is much tighter on the 60's compared to the D44's. There have been numerous write-ups on Pirate showing how to cut and turn the inner C's on a Dana 60.

Re: 2 SASes 1 garage... Summer 2009
I mounted my front hangers tonight. I still have to weld my crossmember in between the hangers. That's tomorrows adventure.

Re: 2 SASes 1 garage... Summer 2009
Haven't got anything done on the truck yet today. Garage saling was on the honey-do-list... but the first place we went, I scored these... $100.
I can either throw my 265s off my 6 lug OEM, or these may get 225/50/16s to maybe fit in the garage after lift is done.

Re: 2 SASes 1 garage... Summer 2009
Front crossmember is all welded up. I used 2 *FREE 1"x2"x1/8" tube steel.

*All of our curtain wall on my project is sent in steel crates that get chopped up and recycled... endless supply of free steel.

Re: 2 SASes 1 garage... Summer 2009
Installed... now to put the front back on. I really have the itch to just rip all of the IFS and throw the dana 60 under it this afternoon... but it would be a big paper weight in the driveway until I get steering, tires, driveshafts, shocks, etc. Still need to drive it around a little bit, and if the guy with the 44 boggers would ever call/email me back, I need it to pick them up. I don't think they would fit in the wife's G6 or my grand am DD. Plus, wanna talk about cali lean... the rear can't change yet (Lacking gears, locker, and rebuild kit). Like 8" cali...

Re: 2 SASes 1 garage... Summer 2009
Spent the rest of the afternoon tearing out my driver's side exhaust. I blew a header gasket about 2 months ago, changed it and still had an exhaust leak. I couldn't see any holes in the tubes, so I figured it was leaking at the collector. After pulling all everything from the X pipe back and pulling all the header off, I still couldn't get it all out. I cleaned off the head and went to the header and found a piece of the orignal gasket that was still stuck. That was leaving a gap between the new gasket and header, causing my new leak. All fixed now so I don't sound like an old dump truck. THAT TICK WAS DRIVING ME NUTS! All fixed now. The guy with the boggers won't call/email, so screw him, i'll buy my locker, gears, and rebuild kit this week and that will be my plans for next weekend.
