Re: HD mini build thread......
i think its my side exits. the dodge i had dumped over the axle then i shortened it to right behind the cab. both set ups were quieter than my 6.0 but they were 3" single pipe. but the 360 did have headers.

Re: HD mini build thread......
The key to quiet is getting the tips past the body... either out the side or back, in the cab that is... My truck isn't too bad, but when I throw my "grandpa cap" on the bed... I wear ear plugs to drive it.
On the road trip from ohio to washington... look closely... Mt. Rushmore

Re: HD mini build thread......
If you just run your pipes out from under the truck it wouldnt drone as much mine drones some nothing like it did when it was cut off like yours.

Re: HD mini build thread......
its the pipe length that causes drone. aside from muffler design but pipe length changes harmonic resonance. i believe there are a few threads floating around on the subject. oh and why havent you installed these mufflers yet?

Re: HD mini build thread......
after wet sanding with 800 grit and 50/50 mix of water and purple power (1 gal to 1 gal):

Did 2 GOOD coats of adhesive promoter and 3 GOOD coats of black primer:

2 thin coats, 1 good coat, and 1 GOOD EVEN coat of gloss black:
and the end result which if i may say it came out lookin BADASS!!!! A lot better than I imagined.
AND MUCH THANKS TO WP SILVERADO, 03-z71, and Nice06z71 for your help and instrucions.

Re: HD mini build thread......
The chrome can be removed if dipped in straight Zep purple degreaser for a few hours..... works wonders on chrome dipped plastic and cleaned out my bowtie's chrome before I painted it.
