Also, remember that my front brakes will be for a 73-87 K10, which came with 15's stock. And I tested these 15's on the rear, and they cleared the stock rear brakes.

I seen a HD drive shaft on a regular gas 4x4 the other day that had been lifted it was huge it looks like it's made from aluminum.

Re: Kirk's truck part 2........budget SAS
Hell, just bring the 8.8. That will eliminate any need for crossover, flat top knuckles, and all that BS. Then just aim it towards a mud hole and floor it

Re: Kirk's truck part 2........budget SAS
Ok, small update. I've learned a little about the Sky kit, hopefully this will help out anyone that is looking into this kit. The brackets themselves are designed for an 88-98 4x4. If you have anything other than an OBS 4x4, you should call them to order, and they will modify the rear hangers to fit your frame width. They actually have that written on their site now, but they didn't when I was looking to make sure they'd fit a NBS. Doesn't matter, I got mine used, so I didn't have teh option of getting them to build teh brackets different. No big deal though, it shouldn't be hard at all to mod them. Just a heads up to anyone looking into the kit.
Ok, now, I'm hopefully getting my springs soon. I'm having trouble getting in touch with the guy that promised me springs, so Monday I'm going by the junkyard to get a price on springs, just in case. Also, I'm getting 10 bolt outers from BigRed05, so once I get the D44, I'll be ready to convert it to 6 lug. Still figuring out exactly what I want to do about steering, but I'm about ready to order parts for that too. So everything is starting to come together, once I get the D44 itself, I think I'll be ready to start tearing it apart. Then once I get the axle hung under it, I can measure for the draglink, brake lines, driveshaft, and anything else I may be forgetting. So far, it's looking like I'm going to stay under my $1000 budget (excluding tires, of course), so I'm pretty excited about that. And I'm gonna start on the wheel tomorrow, I've got a lot to do tomorrow, but I'm hoping to get at least one painted (after cleaning rust, mud, and old paint off them).
Not much point to this post really, just a little update, and I'm just excited that my pile of parts is growing
Oh yeah, possibly the best thing, I'm stealing my welder back tomorrow It's kinda nice that all the houses around me belong to family, but my family borrows anything they think they can possibly use. They've been using my welder as a generator, kinda pisses me off because the guy that borrowed it makes probably 5x the money I make, but borrows all my stuff instead of buying his own
