Re: '92 K2500 Suburban Refurb...
yeah, I've seen it on many too. BUT we kn0w they swapped HD's over in 00, so maybe they got the newer hubs when the wheels were introduced

The center hub was really snug due to the age and amount of 'buildup/corrosion' on the hub - once I took some sandpaper and a little bit of filing, the NBS wheel went on fine!
So now I've got to go to the machine shop where I dopped off the wheels, apologize, pick up the wheels and head back to the tire shop and let them know what a PITA they caused me... hopefully, they'll give me a discount due to all the run-around I did today!

Re: '92 K2500 Suburban Refurb... TIRES & WHEELS!!
Finally! Got the new tires (Goodyear Dura-Tracs) and wheels (NBS HD wheels) mounted and installed on the 'mater;
I think they look awesome and REALLY make the 'mater look good...
Gotta remove the front bumper tho... it rubs the new tires on the drivers side where it's pushed back..
They couldn't align it due to worn out idler arm and a really loose steering output shaft...
Seems as fast as we can knock things off the 'to do' list, new issues get added...

awesome! looks much better.
and i'd leave the wheels the way they are. really ties in the chrome bumpers & molding strip along the side.

Re: '92 K2500 Suburban Refurb...
Thanks for comments! We're happy with how the look is for now.
Since this is a 'budget' build-up, I'm trying hard to keep from going wild with customization.... my dream would be to black-out the whole thing, but that's cost prohibitive. (black bumpers, no trim, black powerder coated wheels, etc)
We've got enough added expenses now with the nagging repairs that are blowing the budget.
We are going to order a bumper from roackauto.com that is exactly correct (i.e. has all the mounting holes for trim, guards, etc) and get replacement taillight lenses as well. We're going to remove the current bumper and see if we can straighten out any bent/damaged brackets to re-use, again, to help the budget.
The exhaust tips will be here today, so we're going to do the exhaust 'mod' Thursday evening and take the 'mater to the exhaust shop Friday for the Magnaflow installation. Can't wait for this!
Saturday will be devoted to steering repairs and the radiator replacement.
We'll get pics as we go...

Re: '92 K2500 Suburban Refurb...
well, do they have one without the trim holes? That way you can debadge/demold and not worry about the bumpers. and taking it off the truck is free, and the bumper smooth cant be a ton more, right?
And powdercoating is roughly 140 for all 4 in my area. Just sayin

Re: '92 K2500 Suburban Refurb...
Yes - they have smoothies, but the biggest issue with debadging is the Suburban has been re-painted. I don't think they removed the side molding when repainting - which means if I do remove the molding, there could be an outline of the molding in the paint job - which wouldn't look good....
Also - we've got to spend over $300 on getting the new steering box, pitman arm and idler arm (minus $90 core on the box) - so the budget is tight right now..
I'm trying hard to hold to 'must do' items for the near term.

Re: '92 K2500 Suburban Refurb...
ahaha tell me about budgets
Well is it the same color as the repaint? It may not be bad. The new paint would lessen the fading, and I beast you could wetsand most of the line out
Just throwin out ideas for ya man, not trying to be pushin or anything

No problem!
BTW - I like your truck - I had a '94 Z71 that I bought new, handed it down to my daughter to drive, then on to my son... we finally decided to sell it last year as it was heading for some major rebuild work (engine & transmission) and we could get a really good price for it.
Here's a few pictures of ole blue;

Yeah - Cheyenne died suddenly - so it was quite a blow to the whole family - she was ~12yrs old at the time...
The new dog is named Sierra - can you get the theme?
Here's a pic of her;

EDIT: guess not. But that rear flare/shape is what makes me think it's a jeep, CJ style

No - that is my DD '97 Jeep TJ - it's my off-road toy that my son gets to enjoy driving to school each day... The Jeep that will be towed is the Silver/Black Cherokee shown in a previous post by my son (it's his off-road toy that is 100% for off-road)
OK - sorry everyone, we got off on a thread-tangent, we'll get back to the 'mater now..
