Sweet truck, got a picture of the Duster? I have a special spot in my heart for those haha, kind of a grandpa car but they were hot back in the day.

A normal slant 6 or 318 Duster would be what I'd call a grandpa car, but not mine.
It's a '72 340 4-speed. My dad special ordered it brand new and I drove it through HS. Still got it. It's in desperate need of a restoration right now.

I likey
My boss used to have one as a DD before he got his Roadrunner in highschool. Says he pulled the 383 from the Roadrunner and replaced it with a 440, then stuck the 383 in his Duster

Re: The History of 1badgmc
i remember my dad telling me stories that a friend of his had a duster in high school and dropped a hemi in it as a sleeper. punk kid came buy thinking his boss 351 could smoke anything. kid took him to the hill and let the mustang get about a 3 car lead and then blew past him, mainly so he could get traction haha. ahh how i wish i grew up in the 60's/70's.

Well, if you drop into the Sportruck.com forums you'll still see |-K|=K in there, so he's still alive. He's too good to come over here, though.

Re: The History of 1badgmc
Good read. Gotta love that truck for not dying on you all throughout the years... Now I understand why my girlfriend loves my Short bed S10 so much.

How long were you here and when did you leave? The truck has been a phantom lately. Lots of people know about it, but few have seen it. I haven't gotten it out very much lately.

When I was stationed in Washington State, a co-worker had the same model Duster, his had the 340 6-pack. It was a fun ride from what I remember.
