at the rate rust decomposes metal I would be more worried of exterior body panels falling off first.

Re: Advice on bagging a truck
Another Newbie question, first off I have a 1988 GMC Sierra reg. cab long bed. I really want to be able to lay the rockers on the ground. I know that I need to do a body drop and was thinking of getting 2 five gallon tanks and 2 Viair 450 compressors, but after that I am not sure of what to get. I am a college student, so my funds are limited but i would rather do the install correctly the first time. I will be doing the work myself, but I am not as knowledgeable about trucks as i would like to be. I need a setup that will have minimal to no wheel hop, since i have a heavy right foot and like putting ricers in there place/doing the occasional burnout. If you could suggest me a setup and a estimated price that would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks A Lot,

Re: Advice on bagging a truck
get a 165-200 pressure switch and youll be good. dont know eexact numbers but you will have plenty play time. its under three min on a 16 gall setup. from 165-200 on 2 480

ok, i'm bying the dual combo pack(2 viair480)and they come with the 165-200 pressure switch, i thought it was a hell of a deal for $369.99 when 1 is $250.

thanks nick

Re: Advice on bagging a truck
im pretty sure you could run bags without shocks as long as you have something from keeping them from overextending, like a limiting strap.

Re: Advice on bagging a truck
you dont need to have something to keep them from overextending, there only going to fill up as much as you put air into them. you should be good with a 10 gallon tank, i am all about the more the better. when i had my 86 mini mazda b on bags, i wasent to happy with my set up cause i only had a 5 gallon tank. and if i lifted the front up and down twice i was waiting for my tank pressure to come back up above 80psi. and you are going to be switch happy forever, it really dosent go away. anyways good luck with your guys trucks

Re: Advice on bagging a truck
I read this whole thread and saw nothing about mono leaf setups?

I don't care about laying frame, fast bags, draggin' ass etc..I was talking to my buddy and he was saying for what I want, a monoleaf setup in the rear combined with flipping the axle, and the cool ride kit would be perfect for me.....

Re: Advice on bagging a truck
Hey guys, this is a very informative thread, thanx. I do have a few questions. First off, I drive a 95 c1500 rclb, I am at a tech school right now, so the large grocery list of mods I want to do to my truck is going to have to wait. Back to the questions. Right now I have a 5.7 but I eventually want to squeeze a chipped/programmed duramax in the engine bay. Is there any bags that will help support the weight of a dmax? Also, will I be able to find a belt driven compressor that will mate to a dmax? What rear setup will be best to keep a relatively nice ride with the added power? I eventually want to lay frame on 20s, so any advice will be helpful. Thanks again.

KP Components bolt on parallel 4 link with canti attachment i take it this = 6-link....i want to put this on my truck . I have no experiance installing air ride but i think i could install this... i have experiance mechanically. anywayz i wish there was a better article of how all this works together to do what it does....i generally understand but i mean more in depth also when you install the kp kit do you have to do anything to assure the driveshaft stays strait?? also that kit doesnt include c-notches does it?
