Re: Advice on bagging a truck
installing my 6-link was my first install ever, and it took 2 days . i had a friend cut off all the suspension with a torch. he cut the u-bolts, shock mounts and all the other rivets, oh yea and he cut straight through the shock mounts on the axel.
i didnt use any straps to keep the driveshaft straight. it worried me at first but yea. i kept the tires on too. have fun! ![]() |

Re: Advice on bagging a truck
cool cuz thats usually how i learn everything is just by doing it...its really the only way with no experianced friends and no college education lol. Thats why i laugh everytime i hear a guy say he needs to go get his oil changed. Change it yourself!

Re: Advice on bagging a truck
Just cut the heads off, and air hammer them out, if you have access to that equipment, Otherwise it will be a bish. The instructions are dead on and its very simple, pretty much like changing a leafspring only lighter.
And no it doesn't come with notch's Last edited by Marcos : 03-20-2007 at 09:39 AM. |

Re: Advice on bagging a truck
No the Kp kit doesn't come with a crossmember, I dont have any pics on how to take the heads off the rivets but its pretty simple...
And no all the pics I have are on my cardomain, I only work on it on the weekend's so every monday I update the pictures. And no I dont lay frame, I chose to keep my bed intact because I still haul a lot of stuff around, and my wheels are 20" |

Re: Advice on bagging a truck
so i take it you made the cross member yourself doesnt look like to much fab is involved? i like how you got 3 tanks UNDER the bed. i guess im gunna throw on some super c's so i can lay. So i take it the coolride setup from ART will allow you to lay out the front if notched/ tubbed for wheels? Do they come with the right cups? Do i still need drop spindles?

Re: Advice on bagging a truck
You don't need drop spindles but it helps with the camber on the tires and is easier on your balljoints.
And no, you have to trim the upper cups on the coolride kit... from what I found it, you should go to suicidedoors.com and just get some cups from them, and buys some slam bags, and a shock relocation kit... bam there is all you need besides the shock which can be picked up at a auto parts store. Re: Advice on bagging a truck
you would have to weld on the relocater kit fron SD.com though....the welding doesnt bother me its where i put the shock that kinda worries me dont wanna f*ck up the front end. also the way you mentioned doing it, is that cheaper? would the best thing to do is buy the ART uca and lca coolride kit?

Re: Advice on bagging a truck
Well you can actually buy the ART shock relocators from SD.com, but I hear that they break at the welds....
Well I would love to buy ART arms, but money doesn't allow me at the time, but they are nice to have... And yes sd is a whole lot cheaper. As for the spindle, unless you have a 2500 or 3500, they only make a 2" drop spindles for 1500's |

Re: Advice on bagging a truck
ok! I got everything done on the rear and went to sit it down for the first time and the crossmember closest the cab was hitting the drive shaft. Is there any fix for this?

Re: Advice on bagging a truck
I'm thinking of replacing my front 1" drop coils with Shockwaves on my ecsb nbs. What type of drop/lift can I expect? I also have 2" drop spindles installed already.

Re: Advice on bagging a truck
You should be alright with that setup. I talked to a few guys this weekend at ITB who were running the kp 6-link. Even though it's a little pricey, they said they liked it alot, and it rode super nice. As far as up front, I'd just run SD cups and RE-7's. I've heard you can run 7's out back, but you may wanna consider running 8's. They're the same price. The 8's may give a softer ride out back with that 6-link, but that's just my opinion. What kinda truck you plan on doing this to man?

Re: Advice on bagging a truck
Sup
Just got myself a nice 02 sylverado with a nice escalade front clip. Looking to put bags on it, it will be a daily and I need full space of the bed so this mean no big c notch for me (yet) (and I just got out of a 2 year frame off/frame wrap so know I just want to relax) Now, lets see if I'm missing something, from what I've seen on here my best bet yould be ART shockwaves SKW2010-LUCA ART airbar ABAR11007 Airlift air commander kit 4 smc valves (front back only is fine) 3 5 gallons tank (or anything that will fit under the bed) It would be nice to have it controled on my remote (what should i get) I'm probably missing some details so if you guys could fill in the blanks Any help will be appreciated. Thanks
2002 silverado, caddilac front clip, just got it. looking to bag it next summer, meanwhile i'll try to get as much info as I can
