York 210 Clutches
What would limit me from using the clutches on my existing AC compressor that I have in my truck right now? Im taking out the ac anyways for the onboard air, could I just use the clutches on there now, or are the clutches exclusive to the York? Just trying to save some money. Lemmie know what everyone thinks.

Re: York 210 Clutches
The yorks have a certain tapered shaft and key way. They probably will not use your current clutch. I like inexpensive, but hate cheap.

yup yup.. definatly not interchangable, the york compressor's come large and small case, ie: 209sc 209c, the large cases have 4 bolts holes in a square pattern and the small cases have 3, two on top, and one low in the center.. the 210's are only large case and are the preferred engine driven for custom setups, most aftermarket kits utilize the 209sc's... also all three 206, 209, and 210 have different shafts, they are noted by the outer edge of the shaft, beveled edge(206), a deep groove (209) and a sharpe edge (210) 6, 9, and 10 being the cubic inch of the compressor.. depending on which york you have, any auto parts store sould have a "four seasons" a/c book to help you get the right clutch, i keep my own books to save steps..

Re: York 210 Clutches
you should be able to use your own compressor just have to tap it for air and either put an inline oiler or tap the case for oil. If you are trying to use your clutch on a york that won't work but if you are pulling your ac just use your ac compressor.

Re: York 210 Clutches
Hrmmmmm... maybe ill look into that. Ill go find out the numbers it puts out and see if its worth it. That would Definitely save me some money and still look factory!
But I looked up that clutch at autozone for the f100 and its only 60 bucks. That definitely makes me a happy camper.
Update: Autozone has the whole assembly for 148.99 /w 10 dollar core charge. So if thats the right comp and clutch, thats a helluva deal.
Another update, I have a carb'd TBI motor in my truck and my alternator is on the passenger side. Is it stock like that?

Re: York 210 Clutches
actually believe it or not, alot of other clutches will fit a york. You can find them on ebay from time to time. I got my serp clutch for like $60 or something. the one off of your AC will most likely not work though.
