Re: body drop
Keep an eye out for an upcoming issue of truckin, there will be a tech article in it for channeling an 04 silverado std cab short bed. I know because i lended a hand to the guy doing it (aka kdubaz). He also channeled his 01 silverado. He knows what he's doin and makes it look easy, no need to drop 10g's on it all ya need is plasma cutter, welder, some sheet metal and your on your way!

it seems like prices for any kind of auto enthusiast in cali is expensive. those fools are paying $10,000+ for a non SS 1964 Impala.

Look I just gotta pipe in here.
The reason the KRZ frames never took off is because they are an assload of work. You're taking a truck, COMPLETELY disassembling it, and then reassembling it on this new frame. Oh and the frame costs a ton.
There are plenty of viable alternatives to bodydropping your truck, and they don't have to cost $10k. Even if you don't have any skills to do it yourself, you can have a shop do a bodydrop for $2500 to $5000, and you've got a complete job, and depending on who did the work, it can be 100% reliable.
It just doesn't make sense to me to buy a whole new frame unless you're piecing together a truck from scratch.

your quite right kevin just personally myself i love the complete frame look like a race car chassis you know but i have seen many traditional and stock floor with the stock frame bd that are awsome too there are just different ways for people with different tastes.

Re: body drop
10k for a body drop is rediculous stock floor or not. i much prefer stock floor over traditional dont have to give up your leg space and head room (this is important for tall fat guys) ever since the truck scene started getting popular prices have been skyrocketing i remember when you could get a b/d done for 2500cdn
totally polished price list
There is a $1000.00 Bedliner Removal Charge
Add $1000.00 for "stock floor"
Chevy

there's a site where a guy does a "bodydrop", he Z's the front end, then cuts off a few inches from the bottom of the frame
once i get a loan, i'm gonna be building a frame from firewall back, then i think i'll also have to channel it to lay doors..

Re: body drop
Is it possible to get some body drop out of just the body mounts. I'm only looking for 1/2"-1", I have a 4/6 drop and I'm scraping everything with my Y pipe and trans cross member. I just was looking to get a little more drop without cutting up the floor pan.
thanks

Re: body drop
well i got a couple of things for this... all work really depends where youy live.... here in ny there nooooooooo way in hell we could see 10k for A bd, but yet again its a whole lot of work... i got my 01 reg cab f150 bagged, stock floored, then traditionaled to the doors for only like 5k...
now i deffinatly know my way around f150's but i need some help because i am going to be body dropping my daily driver 06 crew... what size tires you guys run when using 24's and did you use stock, djm or like extensive's a arms....
and last comment... on if customs... they seem like a good ahop other than prices but i dont live in cali... but tehy do build some cool stuff but i sure have seem some stuff they hacked up too.... i have seen pics from another big shop who did redo from if and some of the stuff i saw i didnt think would come from if.... sooo i guess it doesnt matter where u go just make sure your getting what your paying for....
