Re: The York Thread.
i just had a 03 frieghtliner with a cat c10 engine come into the shop for a a/c job, not a big deal to do a/c on another truck but ones i flipped the hood forward i saw that it had a york for its compressor with a 6 rib clutch

ive never done a recharge with a york before, so ones i got it going i had to take a few pictures
im uses to seeing the york pumping air for our trucks and not freon anymore

anyways here's some pictures

Re: The York Thread.
do all 210's breathe from the left side on top like this

cause i noticed marcos comp which i think is a 209 it was vented on the right
like this

or is it solely based on what you got it out of???
mine came from a 78-79 benz 300 series w/ a straight 6

Re: The York Thread.
Oh shoot, I'm sorry. I wasn't aware they didn't have newer applications. I know another one of the users has a nbs with an edc, I'm not for certain, but I think his name is Numatk something or other... Guage magazine's store has just the flat bracket that mounts to the compressor itself for like $20, but it looks simple enough to make...

Re: The York Thread.
I would say No, but it does add an additional load on the engine , I'm running a slightly larger pulley for my edc and it pulld some HP/TQ when the clutch get's power. feels like a ton of stone in my truck that gets lifted when the york turns off..

Re: The York Thread.
This thread is the friggin bomb. Just wanted to say that.

I've been learning york info from this sticky for a while now & now I'm collecting the parts... almost up to building the bracket as soon as the clutch comes in the mail!

Thanks a mill to all contributors... keep the brainstorm going. This is what it's all about!

Re: The York Thread.
I guess it's because I have a wimpy high mile oil smokin 5.0 w-A/c delete.
I notice some mad power loss when I'm low in the rev ranges , but any higher and the head temp gauge I have for my york gets CRAZY hot . I think I'm over driven on the compressor tho. like 2.5 inch pulley welded to the alt pulley. just for the record I've removed the inertia ring on my compressor pulley because it was throwing the belt at high Revs !!

What is the "ULTIMATE" Oil/water trap-filter ?

I'm guessing all metal is the way to go.
