Question about a newer Silverado??
Is it posible to bolt up a cone K&N Airfilter to the MAFS of a 2000 silverado with a 4.3. The MAFS is right up behind the radiator, by the airbox and it looks like it should work. Also would a Poweraid spacer from a 4.3 in a S-10 work on this truck.

Yeah I have seen the box and filter from airaid and from many other companies , but I was just wondering if it would be possible to attach a cone K&N on the MAFS for a temporary fix. I know this can be done to about all the S-10's so I was just wondering if it was possible for this truck.

Yeah that's what I figured, but I may give it a try anyway. All I have to do is take it back if it doesn't work. He knew about the airaid and all the other systems, but was just curious to see if that would work, since it works on the S-10's.

Bigred305, the K&N intake kit doesn't work because a friend and I have tried it already on my 4.3L and I then went ahead got the Airaid kit. The K&N tube does't even come close of connecting to the MAF and to the TB, also the stock tube does not have enough flex to hook up. I hope I was a little help.

Thanks alot I will keep this in mnd when I talk to him. How much of a performance gain will he see if he uses the Airaid system and which part number did you use. I know it is the kit for the 5.3 and the 4.8 so what did you have to do to make it work with the 4.3?

Will notice a little bit more of a gain in hp but not sure by how much. The Airaid I have is the same part number for the 4.8 and the 5.3 and there isn't any modifications that you to do. All you will get is the heat sheild and a filter head, you will also be using your stock tube. I hope I was helpfull on picking the intake you want.
