Question Doetsch Tech vs. Doetsch Slammer...??
I have read about the TECHs here in this forum and many people swear by 'em.

I looked them up on their website and read the description of the SLAMMERS and it says...."The Nitro Slammer is specifically designed for lowered sport trucks. This complete line will fit all import and domestic light duty, mid and full size trucks."

But I have not read or heard about the SLAMMERS??

I noticed the rating of these are totally opposite with the TECHs being X-soft and the SLAMMERs being X-firm. Is that the reason everyone likes the TECHs?

I was wondering if anyone could help me understand this.

i had them on my truck and they are super firm , i wouldn't recommend them unless you bottom out alot, being as stiff as they are it might help with that.

I went with the Beltech nitro 2's and they ride way better.

Re: Doetsch Tech vs. Doetsch Slammer...??
i have some of the slammers on my 97 nissan which is bagged, those shocks are designed for bagged trucks to take the bounce out of the front end, my nissan rides like a caddy with those shocks on the front. i would put the techs on if you are just going static drop.

Re: Doetsch Tech vs. Doetsch Slammer...??
So Slammers are not good for a static drop? Western Chassis recommends them in there 4/6 drop.

Are the Tech's now Maximum Velocity? One is x-firm one is x-soft.
Which one is better for static?

This thread is confusing. "Tech" is the name of the company, not a shock. As far as I can tell Nitro Slammers are their only shocks for lowered applications.

I just went back to the website to check on hwat you said and I realized that I didnt have my info right even the slightest bit. Your right about the TECH being the Co name. I just assumed it was the type based on what I have read on the internet. I didnt realize thats just a huge sticker on the shock not hte type or style. I also must have read the desctiptions as one. I guess the original question needs to be,

Does anyone have any recommendations for a factory/slightley lowered Doetsch shock?

Re: Doetsch Tech vs. Doetsch Slammer...??
mine are the Belltech Nitro Drop they use to feel alright but now there bad Marcos any suggestions on which way to go i measured the front one are 14" extended and 9.5" contracted also the ends are both round and take a bolt threw them. Do you think the Monroes would have something for me or if not which ones would be best think of it as if you were gonna buy them for your truck but i am paying for them lol

Re: Doetsch Tech vs. Doetsch Slammer...??
I just installed a set of Doetsch Slammer on my OBS KP bagged truck and it road so muck beter. The shocks that came with my KP stuff were too soft for my taste and the Slammers gave me a little stiffer ride and got rid of alot of the waterbed floaty felling. But I think they my be to stiff for a static dropped truck.
