New Project or Sell It
Picked up a 93 ECLB GMC from my Grandfather last week

He had just bought it from the original owner and came with a few goodies such as the window sticker and some papers from the dealer showing a "Final inspection before delivery" sheet. And a sheet showing the 3000 mile service.

All it needs is brakes, and a few front end pieces. And freshen up the interior with some new panels. Maybe replace the rear end and put 4.10s or similar in it (pretty slow with the 3.42s in there now)

Thinkin about since it has a hole from something or another in the middle of the hood getting a small 1.5" or 2" cowl hood. Then painting it the original maroon and silver 2-tone scheme. The shopping cart deflector trim has to go.

Plans:
1. 94-98 GMC Grill with billet and no logo like this:

2. Debadge and repaint it with the factory 2 tone

3. 4"/6" or similar drop.

4. C6 Corvette wheels (and spacers to make them fit)

5. Replace the cracked dash or maybe wrap it in suede to give it a touch of class.

6. Some kind of system, big or small not sure yet.

Comments and Suggestions welcome. Ive done a few drops on S10s and some Toyotas. Im mostly an off-road guy but am lookin to do a decent street truck that can haul a bunch of crap too.

Re: New Project or Sell It
I'd paint it all silver. run factory 4x4 flares with same size wheels and some wide 55 or 60 series rubber all around. that is a big, long truck, and needs some rubber on it.
I like the wheel choice, but I don't think it works for that truck.
Nice truck though. 20k back in the day...Damn.

Not enough rubber for that much sheetmetal, in my opinion. My burb with 275/60/17s in the rear.

Im not scared of trimming to fit. My father is good at painting and we will be painting this truck by the end of the summer or early next spring.

Hell, anybody got any pics handy of some torq-thust lookin 16s or 17s with some meat?

Hmm. Interesting.

Do you tow much? How are the lower-profile tires ride pulling something?

No hitch, no bumper=no tow. only thing I lug around is 42 gallons of fuel. Found a better shot...

Re: New Project or Sell It
With a pickup, you can get a hidden hitch behind the rollpan. But get helper bags for towing with a lowered truck.

Re: New Project or Sell It
Alright, I love seeing ECLBs on here. I've seen two around knoxville, and dad owns one of them. hard to park aren't they?

Yeah, as far as wheels and tires, I would go with a combo that allows lots of rubber, but fills in the wheel wells.

Ditch the old style manual mirrors, and get some 95+ style, I would go ahead and get the 95+ front clip while you're at it, unless of course, you like the square style clip.

As far as sound goes, if you aren't going to use it to haul more than 2 or 3 people, loose the rear seat. You can fit a ton of audio stuff back there.

Personally, I would go ahead and take the time to upgrade everything to the 95+ style... Lots of hard work (dash, front clip, 3rd brake light, seats, interior stuff, a few under hood things) but it'll make it look a lot newer.

As far as rims go, I would go with Boyd coddington's smoothie II rims. Basically torq-thrusts, but a little sharper-edged.

I vote yay on the roll pan, unless you're really short and can't climb up on the tailgate.

Re: New Project or Sell It
Aint tried to park it in a parking lot...brakes suck too bad to take it out of the neighborhood.

I need kinda meaty tires as the truck will be seeing some unfriendly terrain. Gravel roads, Campgrounds, etc.

Im already planing the 95+ grill. As for the mirrors, they dont bother me and are kinda classic in my book.

And the sound system, Im either going BIG with an SPL setup and no Backseat. Or doing buckets and a custom center console.

Im kinda diggin the 88-94 interior. Where the radio controls are by the Climate Controls are I was thinkin about making a place to securely and discreetly holding my TomTom GPS. I grew up in a 94 stepside ECSB and reminds me of my Dads old Silvy.

Climbing in the gate wont be a problem. Its the roads that might not like the Rollpan.
