Flip kit question
If i lower my 81 gmc 1/2 ton with a 6" flip kit will i HAVE to notch the frame to clear the axle?

one way around is dont go so low but what is the fun in that? c-notch it and forget about it until you are ready to bag it.

On an 81 you don't have to, but it wouldn't hurt. You would be left with 3" or so of travel.

Take the plunge and notch it. It's not hard to do at all and the extra inches of travel space will keep the rear of your truck very happy.

you can go without if you remove the stock bump stop with a short one or none at all but I would go with a c-notch if decide to go any lower

i am also lowering my truck..well blazer and was wondering if you just cut the notch and thats it or do you have to buy that c notch kit?.

if you cut the notch you will need to put some thing there...

hey chris for your blazer get ahold of ricky at suicidedoors .com they have different bolt on notches and are at a great price. if you just cut and dont brace your frame then there will be severe consequences

yeah it will relocate your axle on top of your spring pack give you a 6 inch drop if you want to go lower then that you could add a shackle and get an extra 2 inches but then you would absolutley need to notch your frame
