Re: 4x4 lowered / bagged owners check in.
first bro, chances are the 4wd won't work because the actuator is shot on the front diff. very cheap and easy to fix. Anyways, as far as bagging goes, rear is almost identical to a 2wd but the front is all custom and that means $$$$$$$. Good luck

Re: 4x4 lowered / bagged owners check in.
Thanks tuckermitchell. yeah actuator shot hope that;s only thing.
I was at garage all afternoon trying to get one old shackle out. I got in the truckclub now a full member and lot of guys doing drop, bag etc. lot of knowledge there and good people. There are only 2 tahoe, one lifted, and other, mine. I think I'm going to get teh static drop first, then from there I see how far and how much I can do and learn.

Re: 4x4 lowered / bagged owners check in.
did you use the existing torsion key and just adjusted (loosen bolt)? I put the 2 inch shackle and I haven't got around doing the front yet which I'm gonna do this weekend. I do have the 1-3" key but wondering how much stock one will drop... (I have 96 tahoe 4wd)

i just lowered the stock ones, i lowered one tell it was all the way down and then lowered the other one to match, mine were 3/4 off. so now its level (left to right).

According to summit racing: Belltech BEL-3904 is the kit i need to drop my truck. I did some research on this kit and the belltech website says its for a 4dr only but mine is a 2dr, Is this teh correct kit?
Also I noticed I can see the frame under my truck. Im assuming this is becuz of the factory 2" body lift. Can this be removed in addition to lowering my truck with the kit mentioned above?

The difference between the 4 door and the 2 door lowering kits is the 2 doors use a 3.5" drop leaf in the rear and the 4 door kit uses a shackle/hanger drop. I would assume that the 4 door kit would probably work for the two door, but I am unsure.
As far as the "factory body lift" I had the same question on my last 4x4 tahoe and came to find that is supposedly impossible to get it done. If somehow you find out different though, please let me know.
Also, the lowest obs static drop I have heard of was my old one. It was a 95 4 door, lowered with the keys in front about 3.25" and in the rear it had a DJM flip & notch with a 1" lift shackle. I would have loved to go the full 6ish in the rear but the key wouldn't let the bars go down any lower. It rode fine though that way, at least after I put on the new shocks. When I had the original shocks on for a couple months after the drop the ride was Good Luck

Re: 4x4 lowered / bagged owners check in.
Thanks for the info I received. I got the front done with key replaced. used 6" c-cramp which broke ( I went to get 2 more to finish and replace the one I broke) right now mine lowered 2" in rear so front sits lower than the rear and like that look. but, thinking about doing 2 more on rear to level out. I got the 20" rims but my budget is limited so gotta get tires next month and put on. I'll post the pic tomorrow with before and after.

very nice bro. are you gonna leave the sidesteps on there to hide the frame or take them off. that is the one thing I hate about lowering the 4x4 is how much of the frame shows. I just got my lowered keys and hanger/shackle. If you want to get another inch or so out of the back you can take the overload spring out of the leaf pack and get a leaf pack kit from napa and move it up the leaf to keep your load rating. I read it on here somewhere, I believe from IanBroste but not sure. Also, there are the summit/tahoe limited "body kits" that have the side skirts and rear skirts that will hide that frame.

well I'm thinking of cuting that sidestep at least half (more of 2/3) and make new cover so that kinda line up with the body, so yes I wanna keep hiding the frame.
and yeah I kind wanted to lower the rear bit more like an inch. thatnk you for the info.
