Re: 06 Silverado 4wd ECSB lowering clarification...
Hey BellZ71,
I'm in Pgh. area as well and getting ready to drop my '05 crew. Already decranked the front bars. I will do spindles up front as well and might get a flip for the rear.
Saw a shop on Rt. 51 in South Hills that specifically advertizes that they align lifted, lowered trucks so I might check them out since they should be able to help with any camber problems from decranking. I'm sure the've seen it before. FYI my front has been decranked for a few thousand miles and no odd tire wear yet. I only got 1" out of my stock keys.
Not selling the truck anymore?
Jason

Also in pgh area, with a 00 z71 dropped 2/4 right now, with 3/4 ton keys in front, and shackles and ! oem lift block. even with the different keys, I took my truck to the local goodyear (greensburg), and they got it in spec. I told them the truck was dropped, and they said no problem.
The place on rt 51 charges $50/hr for alignments of "modified" vehicles, and said it would take at least one hour to do an alignment. I would try somewhere else first, as your truck should not be too far out of specs. If I have read right, spindles should not have a big effect on your camber settings.

Man lots of Pittsburgher's here. LOL. South Hills here. I'm looking to drop my 05 CC 4x4 as well. Lot of good info here. Where is that shop you are talking about. I have 20's on my truck in the summer but stock 17's in the winter. I was thinking of going 2/4 but don't want to make it too low. Just looking to get down a bit to take some dead space out of the wheel wells.

When you say 3" arms you are talking how low you put them or you did you add new ones on? What did you use to lower your keys? Those keys are the long bars that connect to the front A arms right? Just want to make sure I'm following this correctly. I want more of an even plane when I do the drop and not a raked look like it is now. Will the 2/4 or 3/6 do that for the look of the truck?

Have any pics of your truck dropped 2/4? Curious as to the look. I don't want to go too low but I do want to even out the plane rather than it having the factory rake like it does now. Why did you use 3/4 ton keys instead of just the factory ones?

On 51 heading north before the mall. I go to the old Westinghouse facility in Large PA once in a while and pass it when I go to grab lunch.
2/4 would be very easy with your setup.

Sweet looking ride. Who's spindles and flipkit? What size wheels you running? That's about the look I'm going for.

I believe he runs McGaughy's parts. Nice stuff. The spindles are nice ank keep much of the stock geometry for steering, etc...

I think that you could go 2 to 3" more with no problem. Some have run 3" LCA's 2" spindles and keys. I bet your cv angles are better decranked than they were stock. Mine are less harsh now.

I'll get a pic tomorrow at lunch. I did the 3/4 ton keys instead of just loosening the bolts on the factory ones, because I was told i could get more drop (which seems to be true). My truck is level now, and the 275/55/20 tires do not rub. 2/4 will be a good drop if you do not want to go too low. even at 2/4, I need helper bags or a notch so I can haul stuff again. Which is not a problem, since I plan to go lower, which will require a notch anyway.

Its 305/45/22 and yes it rubs in the front on the inner plastic fender piece. Next year going to purchase a 265/40/22 tire.

From my research here, doing the LCA is a bad idea. You could do spindles and keys that will get you closer to the ground without loosing spec.

Agreed. Just sold my LCA's in favor of spindles.

I'm running 285/50R20 tires. I'm mainly looking to get the truck level but add that street look to it too. Are you that low with the 2/4 that you need the bags or did you just add it for hauling purposes?

Yeah, I hear you That's why I'm dropping mine too. Had a couple of big diesel trucks before this and this one is going to be family friendly. Just much easier lowered (parking garages, kids in an out, wife in and out, cheaper tires, better driving and handling, etc...).
