2/4 drop help please
i've been wanting to do this for such a long time just never went through with it. Just looking for suggestions for a 2/4 drop 4x4 02 ext cab silverado.
However i also remember reading something about how its kinda hard to lower a 4x4

anyone know of a well build, semi cheap kid that i could get? Also other then a kit, what else would i need to get done? i am very new to this if you can't tell so any help would be appreciated!

Thanks

for a 2/4 drop, all you would have to do is lower your torsion bars, remove the rear block, and buy a set of shackles for the rear. you would probably be out of about $75 for the shackles, maybe a little less. oh, and you'll have to get your front end aligned as well.

or you could just buy a 2wd and drop it instead of wasting a perfectly good 4wd

yes, 4 wheel drive will still work. and actually, cv angles will be a lot better than if you lifted it. taking a lot of stress off of the cv axles.

x2 i have a slight lift on my truck right now and i plan on doing the exact same thing your looking into- decrank, remove block, and shackles. i'm actually planning on getting some 2500hd keys for a slightly lower front. then if i want to, i can lift it back up by installing the factory keys and blocks.

Re: 2/4 drop help please
i dont understand why people say go buy a 4x2 instead of dropping a 4x4 when this is a street 4x4 forum thats suppose to give useful info on lifting OR dropping your 4x4. and your not wasting your 4x4 if you can still use it..
