dropping a 4x4 2500

Im working on dropping and bagging a 2004 Chevy 2500 HD 4x4 with a built Duramax.
I cut the bumpstops off today and notched everything for it to lay out. I installed some McGauhys lowers the owner brough me. Im putting the Torsion bars back on with some drop torsion keys and ill have the torsion bars set to barely hold it off the ground or barely touch the ground then have the bags on the upper arms. any advice anyone has please feel free to chime in

I want what this^^ guy is on.

Bag on upper arm seems to be the way guys are doing it so you're on the right track.

As for the torsion bars, wouldn't you be able to completely remove them since they are no longer needed as a 'spring' since the bags will be doing the spring's work?

Re: dropping a 4x4 2500

I agree but after trying for months to talk the customer out of it Im having to go along with it.

Im leaving the torsions in adjusted to where they almost get it off the fround so that they do help the bags. Its a heavy ass truck and it will take alot of pressure to lift it. the torsions while not lifting will be doing a good deal of the work. The bags will just add that helping hand.

Re: dropping a 4x4 2500

yea the front was easy, just cut off the bump stops and notch the upper arm mounts. we also put on some McGauhys lowers. we plan to eventually bag it with the bags on the upper arms. we also decided to leave the torsion bars in to help lift the truck. so we swapped in some half ton torsion keys and adjusted all the way down it sits with the frame 3" off the ground. when it gets bagged we will notch the crossmember where the keys mount and get it to lay frame. then the torsion bars will help the bags a little.

The back will be a step notch of 2"x4"x.250" with some armor plate bracing Im designing in CAD. The bridge has to bolt in per customer orders. Bags placement in the back has not been decided yet.

please ask me anything about this.
