I DON'T KNOW ****...22" Chip Foose Speedsters on Dropped OBS
At a local swap meet I came across 22" Chip Foose Speedsters at a retarded price. I didn't purchase them yet but I still have his info.
My truck is lowered. What is a skinny but safe tire to ride on for comfort? I know with BIG RIMS n FAT LIPS your driving style has to change and you must very weary of where you drive.
I would really not like to jack up my front.
Is it possible to roll my front fender and KEEP MY FENDER FLARES? I need my fender flares b/c it helps blend in my Nali/Esky Conversion. REMOVING THEM IS OUT OF THE QUESTION.
If there is rubbing on the inside I can get ahold of heat gun to re-work the interior plastic but I'm afraid of it rubbing on the fender.
Will putting bigger rims actually help in clearence since it will in a sense lift my truck a little?
Here is a pic I was using for reference:
Its an OBS 2 DR which looks like on stock Height
Here is my EscaHoe
Here is a pic of her...See how the FF fills the Extra space from the Nali/Esky Bumper
Sooner the better! My plans is get them Painted BLACK (of course) but leave the LIP and "FOOSE" in the center caps Chrome.

im pretty sure the escahoe is a 5 lug pattern like the rest of the obs trucks...
i've got 305/40/22 tires on my nbs, i dont rub at all. i know its all different from your setup but if you were looking for ride comfort i'd suggest nothing bigger then 20's so you can keep somewhat of a sidewall on the rubber..
let me know how it turns out..

this is in the 4x4 section.
So I can only assume its a 4x4 obviously, which would make it a 6 lug.

Re: I DON'T KNOW ****...22" Chip Foose Speedsters on Dropped OBS
I GOT THE RIMS!!! LET THE FUN BEGIN!
22" Chip Foose Speedsters with 2 ALMOST NEW Toyo proxies and locking lug nuts for $250. There is minor bubbling/pitting where the spoke joing the wheel well. Not that bad in order me to paint as of right now.
The two tires that came with them will be in the rear. I am going to order smaller ones to the front I'll keep YOU UPDATED!
THANKS FSC

Re: I DON'T KNOW ****...22" Chip Foose Speedsters on Dropped OBS
Here are some pics...I don't know what to do with the front? Is 35 to small of a tire on a raked truck? The tire on there now is 45. They fit the rear fine. I can get the 45 to fit but I would have to raise the front up! I can do a 35 and raise it less.

Re: I DON'T KNOW ****...22" Chip Foose Speedsters on Dropped OBS
got any pics from the front? I think I would use the same tire all around. 45 and 35 is too big a difference. and I would do 35..I like to keep it low

Re: I DON'T KNOW ****...22" Chip Foose Speedsters on Dropped OBS
UPDATE TIME:
I still don't know what to do with the front. I called the tire place and the 305 tire it came with was "retarded" according to the tire guy. He recommended what the NNBS NBS Escaldes use from the factory which is a 245/45/22. That will allow for FULL TURNING Radius. My stubborness stands on what size to use for the front. I don't mind jacking up the front a bit but not to much. I'm still debating on using a 35 or 40 in the front.
After more inspection of the rims and a phonecall to RAINBOW POWDER COATING in Deer Park. They are going to powder coat the rims Gloss Black @ $100 per rim. Going to sand blast each rim to ETCH the Chrome allowing the Paint to grip to the Chrome.
Now Problem with P/C the plastic rivets in the rim will melt. I will pop them out pre-powder coat. WHERE DO I FIND REPLACEMENT ONES?

Re: I DON'T KNOW ****...22" Chip Foose Speedsters on Dropped OBS
nice call on the powdercoating, they will match your truck much better than chrome. imo, i wouldnt listen to the tire guy. they always act like they know what they are saying and usually dont, reminds of the autozone guys. maybe he would be right if it was a stock truck, but obviously its dropped so its not gonna be like stock. but i wouldnt run a 305 anyways, the 305/40/22 i had on my 98 in my sig was way to big for my liking. i ended up selling the rims before switching to different tires.
this wasnt off the jackstands yet because the front fender was gonna land right on top of the tire, so i pulled it back off

Re: I DON'T KNOW ****...22" Chip Foose Speedsters on Dropped OBS
305/45 will be in the rear. 285/XX/22 will be in the front. Stick out won't be to bad since I have FF.
We will see what the tire knows when I throw them on. People do lower trucks from factory and still turn. I've seen people on the internet with 26's and lowered with no issues at all. Trail and error I guess. This is what happens when your the first of its kind. I was going to powdercoat them from the get go but I wanted a combo of chrome/polished and black. But talking to all of them seems like it wouldnt fit well due to different layers from paint to polish. BLACK IS BEAUTIFUL!

Re: I DON'T KNOW ****...22" Chip Foose Speedsters on Dropped OBS
the stick wont be that bad with ff as long as your not low enough when the suspension travels down when you hit a bump. if your drop is too much and it travels down, there goes your fender lol.

I was thinking of a HEAT GUN and warming up the inner fender liner and pushing it out.
