If your gunna bag it dont waste your money on a drop kit. Just save up and bag it. When you bag it youll have to get new tires unless you wanna do alot of tubbing to fit the 275/45's

Re: Years with Drops
i think if you wanna go smaller go smaller than a 275 cuz thats the width of the tire so smaller width smaller tub. but yeah do not drop your truck if you going to bag it. i made the mistake of dropping my truck twice before i started bagging it. im in the process of bagging it right. i was gonna post some pictures when i get some good ones. but yeah i wasted $500 on just lowering twice then i spent 2 grand on bagging it...that $500 could have helped...so yeah dont drop it before you bag it. and about your C notch...you'll still have to cut it out cuz you have to have atleast about an 8 inch talland im gonna say like a foot long notch and doing a flip kit drop in the back you only need like 3 inch notch..so it would be pointless i think

Re: Years with Drops
How are people doing 5" drops on the rear of the 98's? I dont see a kit. Only a 3 4 drop. Also does it need a notch with the 5" drop?

Yes, it definately needs frame notches. A rear 4" drop needs notches. Notches are no big deal, they compromise nothing in the trucks usability. For a 5" rear drop, I would perform a straight forward 6" rear drop, which is a standard axle flip, and simply install rear helper air bags & run with a small amount of air in them. There are advantages to this, such as being able to put more weight in the bed, etc. Anyways, this is not the right thread for this topic, so I will stop.
