do you or anyone know how the revolutions work? i am trying to picture the crank pully spinning one revolution, the alt would probably spin around atleast twice??? , so effectively the compressor would spin at equal rev to the engine with a v-belt from the alt (over twice the alternators size, but close to the crank pully).. the york will work up to 6000rpm so that would be ideal, so if it was just a little smaller than the crank pully in a serp belt routing it would be good too cause i dont get my engine over 5.25K.. shift points..

all depends on space then...

anyone have a schematic of a serp belt routing with sizes of each pulley including the AC? thats where i think we need to start... then just use math to figure the rest out

this would be for a 5.7 vortec with ac, mines a 98 but i would imagine that the 96-98's and the 5.7's in the '99 and '00 2500's are the same

time to start searching!

onbaordair.com
has the york dipstick for $5

i order my kit last week on the 15th so im thinking with today being a down day that i should have the kit by the 22nd or the 23rd

the kit i order was for non-a/c since i don't have a/c in my truck

now im just wondering how long is the belt on a tbi a/c truck?

im thinking since i don't have a/c in my truck, i can just get the tbi belt for an a/c truck and everything should work out

but on the onboardair site it says i need a belt thats 97.25 inches long,
but i have no clue how long my stock non-a/c belt is

but as soon as i order a air line i'll have it installed and post pictures of the york

i painted my york a dark blue color over my christmas break

That website has only pre-vortec applications, hmm...

What would the vortec guys like us use to turn it, the alt still?

You would think with all the trucks sold with vortec engines and airbags installed that someone would have made a kit by now

I have talked to Brad Kilbey a few times about the vortec kit. I think he is just a Lazy A$$. He keeps saying that it is in the works but he has been saying that for over a year. Don't hold your breath for OnBoard Air to get it done.

my engine is a bit bigger does that make a differance? do you have the stock alternator pulley?

i don't think the alternator pulley thing would matter because i guess there's a new one with the kit

Air Lift makes the V8 Vortec kits. Not sure what the difference is but I'd imagine the front of the block and the accessory brackets are the same.
So i can expect you to help me out with this, right? Will we put in my notches then too?
