Re: Big sway bars??
How much does the thickness of the bar effect the performance?

Re: Big sway bars??
on the front, from what I've read, a bigger than stock one doesnt make that much of a difference, it depends on your bushings and endlinks and what not.

Re: Big sway bars??
That truck looked like it was rolling quite a bit in the front, but the rear was solid.

Re: Big sway bars??
Another option for you guys would be a front sway bar off a 1 ton truck. Its larger then factory and you'll be able to find it in a yard cheaper then an aftermarket. But like previously said your sway bar is only as good as your mounts and endlinks, the more solid they are the better job the bar can do. You real nuts may want to look into solid swaybar mounts, some will use a super hard nylon as a bushing and i've seen some that are just steel or aluminum. The energy suspension stuff is an improvement but will still flex considerably compared to the solid mounts.

Re: Big sway bars??
The front has stock rubber bushings and brand new blown shocks the back end has all new polly bushings.
on a side note kyb autozone shocks are $16 with a lifetime.
a lifetime for them is like 3 month's

Re: Big sway bars??
I put a hellwig rear sway bar on my 2000 and I agree, it is a night and day difference front just the stock sway bar. When I did the rear bar, I swapped all the rubber bushings up front to poly bushings. I actually have the hellwig bar for sale, bc it won't fit on my 09.

how would one go about making some solid mounts? Do you any pics of a setup like this? I wonder how much of a diff it would make....

Re: Big sway bars??
I'm actually going to look at a 96 Tahoe for parts tomorrow so I'll snag the rear bar and put it in the 95. I'll make a thread aswell.

Re: Big sway bars??
I got a sway bar and realized it doesnt have any type of libe for the bushings.
What kind of lube can I use to prevent any squeaking?
Would anti seize work?
Thanks
