Re: Fix Those Wipers (Wiper Board Repair)

Just want to say THANK YOU! My wipers have been going on and off for about 6 months now, and I never would have thought it was that easy to fix. I also admit to reaching out the window to move the wipers by hand, AND using Rain-X as a temporary fix. Hopefully now I no longer have to worry about heavy down pours and pulling off the side of the road.

Thanks Again!

Re: Fix Those Wipers (Wiper Board Repair)

Thanks a bunch. My 95 has been parking high. Just took all of 10 minutes to fix a burned trace. that was finding the solder gun and tools. Thanks a bunch.

Re: Fix Those Wipers (Wiper Board Repair)

been having intermittent problems for last 12 months with my '98 model silverado. would engage delay and hear buzzing behind the dash. a jiggle or two would get things working until next rainstorm, then repeat.
i removed circuit board and cleaned contacts, both coated with gear lube. no broken solder joints seen. replaced and all tested good. we will see this weekend. ike is coming. thanks to the forum.

different animal bud. This would help you if you had a 92 or newer.

Re: Fix Those Wipers (Wiper Board Repair)

I have an '04 Tahoe.... my wipers won't stop once I start them! Well, not until I shut the damn truck off anyway.

Is this part of the same problem?
Thanks...

Re: Fix Those Wipers (Wiper Board Repair)

Ever since i bought my 96 GMC, the wipers worked off and on... i always had high speed mode, but when it acted up, i had no low speed, no squirters, just high speed. Thanks to this board, and this thread, i decided to go pick up a new board for 30 bucks. My soldering iron was at work, and its raining here, so i didnt want to wait. Anyway, all seems to be working good now! Crossing my fingers it stays that way! Thanks guys!

My 99 Suburban does this. no washer either. I didn't find any loose joints... I will look again. I will also try the ground wire.

I didn't see any loose joints at all on mine, but I cleaned out as much of the old solder as possible with some solder wick from radio shack, and resoldered everything back in. I did all of the big pins, and a few small pins. Again, nothing looked loose or cracked, but that is what I did, and now they work perfect! Maybe it's worth a try!
