Re: Installing factory fog lights, '04 silverado

So here's my problem..

I have a 2003 silverado. I bought this truck a few months ago. I've come to the conclusion that my truck previously had fog lights because i have the dash switch, relay, my valence has the holes, and i have some wires hanging down. The problem is that the wires have been cut off on both sides.

Is there any way to just replace those wires or add some length to them?
Can you buy the plugs that attach to the fog lights and attach them to the wires?
Im interested in buying the 17802547 kit because i need the fog light assy's and i like the black valence.

What would you recommend i do?

You can probably get the harnesses from your local Chevy parts guy. There may be part number tags on the remains. You can buy replacement sockets which have pigtail leads on them from an auto parts store and build your own harness. Before you go tot the trouble you might want to use a voltmeter or test lamp to see if the setup you have now works.

Re: Installing factory fog lights, '04 silverado

I recently purchased a factory fog light kit (17802547)for my 2006 Silverado LT. The package came with a new air dam (pre cut), wiring harness, lights, switch, relay, hardware, etc. Everything but an instruction sheet or wiring diagram. Does anyone have such that they would be willing to scan and post? I would be most grateful.

John

Re: Installing factory fog lights, '04 silverado

BOB T,

Thanks for the help I'm going to try to crawl under there today and check the voltage.

I'm still considering the kit though, because it wouldn't be much cheaper to buy just the lights. I'd like to get oem lights because i've had bad luck with others in the past.

How hard do you think it would be to sell the wire harness, switch, relay, etc and my 03 used valence after?

Question Re: Installing factory fog lights, '04 silverado

I would like to bump this thread. I have a 2005 silverado that didnt have foglights from the factory. I got lights from a wrecked bumper and installed them on my truck. All i have is the lights and about 8 inches of wire on each light as someone chopped the harness up. I need a complete wiring diagram (color coding too) from the lights to the fuse box then to the switch. Also i need the relay, can someone give me the part number for it?

Thanks,

Corey

I have a relay and fog light switch I could sell you. They are both brand new. Also, you could have the installation instructions that I got with the oem kit I bought. I don't know if it has the wiring diagram but I can check it tomorrow.
