Re: How to disassemble NBS power mirrors

How did you wire up the courtesy light? Did you have to take your door panel off to get to the mirror wiring plug?

Re: How to disassemble NBS power mirrors

Right in the corner of the window, on the inside of the power mirror, is a little triangle-shaped panel, that covers the mirror mounting screws. This panel isn't part of the door panel, it just pops off.

Re: How to disassemble NBS power mirrors

In order to get the spring back on I used a C clamp and a 1¼" sch 40 pipe end cap. It was the same diameter as the retaining ring but didn't interfere with the teeth that grip the mirror post. I padded the work bench, set the mirror down, then used to the c-clamp and end cap as a press to compress the spring and install the retaining ring. Took very minimal effort.
