GAH!!!
The dealership gave me wrong part (they gave me 15287178, not 15287179) and Im going have to return it tomorrow......hopefully they will give me one that i want.

Thanks for the upgrade. Super easy and gives a clean look. Did notice a bit of reception loss but I might be picking it up on the other end with gas mileage gains!!!

Yeah, I couldn't believe how easy it was to do the mod...
I just removed the three small screws that hold the base and laid the antenna alongside the fender. I fished it through the rubber hood alignment cushion and left it that way.
I didn't notice any loss in reception at all.

Good tutorial, had a friend of mine pick one up at his work (GM dealership). They had one in stock, did this in about 10 minutes.
