Re: 99-02 Steering Wheel Audio Control Install

Joe do you still have the instructions from JP Customs? They went out of business. My main concern is cutting and splicing my existing wires. This is an oem option on my 2002 Z71 so why do I have to cut and splice?

PS: don't get me wrong this is great info.

Re: 99-02 Steering Wheel Audio Control Install

They controls will work on OBS trucks. 98 was the only year with the correct steering wheel so if you have a 95-97 you will need a new steering wheel and airbag.

My roommate has a 95 K1500 and his steering wheel was worn out, so he bought a new 98+ wheel and airbag, and along with that controls and new coil. I installed them for him and as stated before you will have to cut the airbag plug off your new coil and swap it from your old coil. Aside form that the instructions are the same, the columns themselves are VERY similar.
