I can't see the pics for some reason, but great write up, Brandon. This needs to be a sticky for sure.

Re: 91-94 OBS gauge cluster LED conversion. HOW-TO

Is it pretty much the same for the moonies? And what about the signal lights, does it just run off the colour of the LED's? I want to go with the blue LED's in mine to match my stereo, do i have to sand off the green? I plan on running the 5-LED lights so will it show thru the green alright?? Thanks for the help, and AWESOME write up Brandon!!!

I was gonna take apart my moonie cluster but i didnt, i know the green tint on the back of the white bars has to be scraped off and the moonie cluster is more complex to take apart becuase each gauge is a seperate gauge,

hornsfan with the blue OBS in his signature put LED'S in his moonie cluster.

No. Your signal and warning lights run off of seperate, dedicated bulbs. The bulbs Brandon pointed out in his write up are strictly for gauge illumination.

Re: 91-94 OBS gauge cluster LED conversion. HOW-TO

theres no point in replacing the IDIOT light bulbs with led's. Each idiot light has its own little bulb and its own little dedicated socket to isolate it from all the other lights in the dash.

My truck is stick so i figured id replace my parking brake light becuase it comes on alot.

The moonies have a green plastic piece that goes between the lights and the gauge face. I suppose if you could cut out the plastic or something it could work, but I just replaced my bulbs with blue LEDs and it works fine, looks really blue.

Well, I know I have a dimmer switch, so I am assuming mine would dim also. Take some more pics, dimmed and not, I would like to see more.

Mine definitely did not dim. I used the single wide angle led's you can get on ebay.

I have the single LED ones from pep boys or somewhere and they don't dim. I want to upgrade to 4 or 5 led ones but will get a tach cluster first.

Re: 91-94 OBS gauge cluster LED conversion. HOW-TO

What I did on the wifes MPV van is I bought these three LED's that are mounted together and I placed it on the steering column now the speedo looks blue plus it really doesn't look tacky because it's so small they do sell different colors at Auto Zone.
